SPACE ACCIDENT

You spend about $1 and then: You will push boxes like irresponsible delivery man, trying to set them on right position with surgical precision. You will get stuck on Note No. 3 with no idea. You will get to know that there is a fatal checkpoint save game system: Not after every riddle, and even not on exit. So, you won't want to repeat the same glitchy solution again and you will uninstall this game for now. Sus.

Are you really surprised? You can see the pictures. It's as bad as it looks. There's no help, so you sort of flail around. Most objects aren't interactable even though the look the same as everything else, so a lot of it amounts to running around seeing what will actually move when you touch it. I hesitate to call it an "asset flip" because it looks like there might be some real effort with the puzzles, but the controls make them frustratingly difficult to solve, and some solutions feel more like exploiting bugs in the engine than natural solutions that flow from how you expect the physics to work. Sure, it's cheap, but it was bad enough that I refunded it anyway. It's really meh. I'm honestly surprised to see a game like this on GOG. I bought thinking "It can't possibly be as bad as it looks; it's on GOG." But it is precisely what you'd expect from looking at the pictures.

I never made it past the first room. I should have read all the reviews before purchase, but I just looked at all the stars. It turns out that several of the 5-star reviews are verbatim copies of other 5-star reviews. Two things are now obvious: 1: Reviews were poorly manipulated 2: GoG doesn't care about 1 The best part of this game is it's an eye-opener. It made me start really researching every purchase.

When a game has a bunch of 1-star reviews, followed by a bunch of 4-5 star reviews which each suspiciously contained similar grammatical errors…. Yeah. Initial reviews complain about hit detection and inability to manipulate objects in a sensible manner, nonsensical puzzle solutions, and the apparent need to rely on glitches of the game’s engine to solve some puzzles due to these issues. They do boast about the graphics, but also, complain about the complete lack of story or villain or anything to keep you motivated other than solving the next glitchy puzzle. The fact that there appears to be review manipulation tells you a lot about the game & team behind it.
