Description
Enter the world of SOMA and face horrors buried deep beneath the ocean waves. Delve through locked terminals and secret documents to uncover the truth behind the chaos. Seek out the last remaining inhabitants and take part in the events that will ultimately shape the fate of the station. But be careful, danger lurks in every corner: corrupted humans, twisted creatures, insane robots, and even an inscrutable omnipresent A.I.

You will need to figure out how to deal with each one of them. Just remember there’s no fighting back, either you outsmart your enemies or you get ready to run.
  • From the creators of the cult classic Amnesia the Dark Descent.
  • Spine-chilling horror that raises questions about identity, consciousness and existence itself.
  • Mixes stealth, exploration and puzzles into a coherent narrative experience.

I quit, due to immorality

Although the foul language bothered me, worse than that was the game's fixation on forcing the player to victimize other characters in order to progress. It starts when you find some sort of robot hooked up to a console. Since the mouse showed the hook-up was interactive, I clicked, and it unplugged, but the robot pleads against you doing it. I tried to re-plug it--but the game didn't even have a function to do so, and you're just supposed to unplug it to open a door. Well, I thought, maybe we can re-plug the robot later. But the game seems to take delight in these "power transfer" scenarios leading you to hurt or kill characters by rerouting electrical power they need. Soon you meet an amusing robot you can only avoid electrocuting by seeking an obscure alternate solution. Later, you meet a woman hooked up to a grotesque life support system. Evidently you need to shut it down, killing the woman, so you can get enough power to activate your shuttle or something. I searched FAQs for an alternate path but found none. Nope, not gonna do it. Not gonna play anymore.

Lots of walking

Lost interest after a lot of underwater trail. Why create games to demonstrate the inconsistency of the Ego? Read some Bhagavad Gita instead!

I didn't like it

I wanted to like this game because the reviews say that it's a good story and I love scifi stories. Started the game in a room. Looked everywhere for something that I had to drink to leave the room. I guess it was my fault for taking a while finding it. Got to some place and no one appears to be there. Tried to leave because I don't have time for this sh%t but the game forces you to do the current puzzle which is find the code. It was an easy puzzle but I felt like I wasted some time. Final puzzle for me was to swipe the omni tool and I couldn't figure out how to swipe it so I turned the game off. I just got tired of the game wasting my time. PROS I think one of the only good things was the sound CONS Story seemed to be ok so far but I rolled my eyes at the talk about dying with your friend while on the bus. The story couldn't pull me in. Enviroment design seemed to not be designed with care and looked lousy. Like a wire was in the ground and cut off but appeared ontop of the floor a bit further away. Lack of care. Game was really dark and the environment again just felt bland. Just a lot of metal, fenches, wires, computer things, black marks, and dripping black stuff. Just a lot of reused assets everywhere imo. A lot of the writing on the books seemed to be what someone who was really into details would put. Like, it's logical to do that but I'm not super into hardcore details that felt meaningless to read. So many made up words or big words that no one uses. The gameplay didn't feel right. Right trigger to open stuff and then left anolog to turn and pull...Yuck! The game also didn't run that well for me. It showed screen tearing. Looking outside the window in the office, the city felt dead. For a game being set in Toronto, why aren't there any people around lol??? Anyways, I felt this game may be good for teens/people who just want to play horror games but for someone who just wants to enjoy their time playing a game with a good story, this couldnt do it.
