SOMA

I had this game on my library for free a long time ago. I decided to play it since I didn't want a fast-paced game and I wanted to enjoy a good story. This is perfect for what I wanted. I can't tell you how much I regret not have played it before. You should try it

I don't get why so many people give this game a negative review. A lot I read here is people not being able to figure out the first 3 "puzzles", and then quitting? Gameplay is cool, nice horror, and I actually really liked the monster encounters, kept me at the edge of my seat, and I play a LOT of horror games. The atmosphere is just amazing and the story really get's deep into some philosophical matters of "being", and what it means to be, and to be human. Incredible game!

I'm not a fan of horror games, I usually can't bring me to play any. But I got this recommended by a friend for its story and I have to say it's totally worth it. Even if you play it on easy mode where you can't get killed by monsters, it doesn't get boring. You always keep going forward just to see how the story continues, what happens next.

Amazing game. It is borderline walking sim but Frictional knows how to add some meaningful gameplay to make it more than that, I played this years ago on PS4 but the game still holds up and there is nothing quite like the first play through. Some of the enemy interactions show their age/limitations but aside from that, still a top notch sci fi horror.

Despite the bugs in this game, I really can not sing it's praises enough. Rarely do I find a horror game that genuinely feels creepy and yet has enough there to warrant buying and playing the game for yourself at any price. Instead you usually get something more horror-themed then actually scary or something with so little you can do, you might as well youtube someone else playing it. SOMA manages to escape both fates being constantly creepy and giving you enough to do while playing that you know most are going to either see something you missed or miss something you found. If you are a fan of true horror-survival who wants the game to actually be threatening, you are in for a treat. This game will haunt you, make you dread going forward, and yet at the same time leave you eager for more every time you leave.
