Enter the world of SOMA and face horrors buried deep beneath the ocean waves. Delve through locked terminals and secret documents to uncover the truth behind the chaos. Seek out the last remaining inhabitants and take part in the events that will ultimately shape the fate of the station. But be careful, danger lurks in every corner: corrupted humans, twisted creatures, insane robots, and even an inscrutable omnipresent A.I.
You will need to figure out how to deal with each one of them. Just remember there’s no fighting back, either you outsmart your enemies or you get ready to run.
From the creators of the cult classic Amnesia the Dark Descent.
Spine-chilling horror that raises questions about identity, consciousness and existence itself.
Mixes stealth, exploration and puzzles into a coherent narrative experience.

I'm not a very big fan of horror games in general but this one really put it's hooks into me. light surival horror elements mixed with a really dark and intresting sci-fi story. (haven't beaten the GOG version, only the PS4 version)
After playing this game, I start to think about the future of our world. Will we be like those people in the game, like we are all just data and live in a virtual world? Anyway, it is a very good game.
The game is a glassic Frictional Games horror. The ambient sounds and darkness with good graphics makes the experience really scary. The story is interesting too and besides the horror you want to learn what happens in this world.
I thought that this game will be some cheap gore horror game, but I was so wrong!
It has an intriguing story, beautiful visuals (I particularly liked the underwater environments) and it brings out some pretty deep philosophical questions.
The horror is not so much on the physical level (yes, there are monsters; but for me there was something worse). The true horror is psychological and it gradually rises as you play through the game and realize the truth of your existence and of the mankind. Not that the visuals are lacking, the weird organic growths overtaking the human bodies are a thing to behold and turn your stomach.
The ending was maybe a bit rushed in my opinion, a lot of things happening in a quick succesion, but still very powerful. I really recommend this game.
+Excellent story which delves into the Human Psyche and asks interesting questions about what it is to be human
+Excellent characters with believable personalities and compelling backstories
+Creepy atmosphere with a lived in world to base it on
-Monsters are more of a nuisance then a threat
-Monsters discourage exploration where most of the backstory could be hidden
-Game can freeze when it’s loading a new area.
Overview: Soma is a dark science fiction game with a bleak but sombering story which delves into to what it means to be human. Unfortunately it is held back by a series of monsters which act more like a nuisance then a scary threat.
