Broken, Buggy Mess of a CoD Clone

This game I knew going in was supposed to be bad. I really wanted to like it though, as I previously played Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 and liked that one a lot. This game has great graphics for the 360 era. I love the luscious jungle setting, and things like the palm trees, waterfalls, cliffsides, etc. can look stunning. The core sniping mechanic is fun. But my God, this game is literally broken. Just straight up, downright broken. There are scripted events that are literally IMPOSSIBLE to beat without severely cheesing the map. The assault rifles/machine gun gameplay is atrocious. The sound effects are cheap and the recoil is ridiculous. Even as a side mode and not being the main point of the game, it's just embarrassingly bad. There's all sorts of lesser problems and bugs too. Your friendly a.i. do nothing. Very often they don't follow you like they should but just remain stuck, frozen at the beginning of the map, leaving you to lone wolf it. You get stuck on random geometry all the time. Some lighting on map lacks light sources (no flames or lights casting them). Invisible walls look like open fields. Enemies continue to play voice lines of them talking after they're dead. Cutscenes or audio dialogue sometimes don't play. Save files get corrupted. There are times when you can barely see enemies as a sniper, yet they shoot you instantly with perfect accuracy from hundreds of meters away with inaccurate machine guns. Exiting a turret spawns you outside your cover, leaving you defenseless. Nevermind the mediocre stealth and enemy a.i.. Given the game's age and indie, low-budget B-movie feel, I can forgive that. But having parts where you get soft-locked on a map and have to restart it, or scripted events which are supposed to be cool Call of Duty moments but where you die over and over if you do exactly what the game tells you to? Did nobody play test this? This goes beyond being a bargain bin Call of Duty clone focused on sniping. It's just a broken mess.

A fun game with some flaws.

The overall experiance i have had with this game is positive. However there are some things I have experinaced while playing that have made it somewhat disapointing at times. This is an old game so I dont expect an open world but when your used to being able to traverse an open world it is jaring when you reach a limit on the level and can't approach a certain direction. Additioanly there are missed opportunities in the game where the enemy is killed by either a cut scene or you are not playing as the sniper when a big bad is killed. It seems odd that they decided to include levels where you snipe certain big targets but you have to play as the spotter instead of the sniper. Its like heres a bad guy to kill that youll be persuing throughout the game but when you finally get to kill him you the player just get to watch as the game kills him. The sniping mechanics are fun and the bullet camera is enjoyable. I got it for 79 cents so I think for what I paid its definetely worth it. Just go in with lower expectations.

Wow

This is one of those games that is so bad I would actually recommend checking it out. The story is not just poor, I actually have no idea what is going on. At one point, a boat pulls up to evac a guy that gets shot AFTER the boat. Forget poor AI, the enemies in the game barely even move and know exactly where you are at all times the instant you are detected. Aside from the crazy OP gun you start with every other gun has huge recoil and is not fun to use. In the end I did find it entertaining but not for the right reasons...

A Good Game, Great Value and Fun

This is 1 of the first FPS games I got into about 5 years ago. It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. I thought it had beautiful environments albeit with quite narrow corridors. So not a true open world, or a small 1 at best. It's sequel is better as it's more about sniping and more tactical than this game, but this original has a mixture of FPS elements with tactical elements. Some people pointed out the poor story, the terrible ending, the unpolished elements. And it's true but do you really care? These are 2 of the few FPS games I have completed. So they are engaging and fun and sometimes that's all you need. If you're coming from having played the Sniper Elite games I'd say those are much harder, more polished games. But that doesn't mean this isn't worth a play. It's a good but not great game. Plus it's 59 pence on sale, just grab it

Weak excuse for a Sniper game

I won't even bother playing the rest of the series. Good thing I grabbed the first 3 games on a 80-90% discount, because it really didn't worth much. Inconsistent aim of the character, patience won't work to your favor, insta-killed right after jumping out from your cover, the missions are lame as hell, the teammates like if they don't even exist etc... Just a piece of crap don't worth your money. Don't buy this, not even on discount, it's a scam!
