Why buy on GOG.COM?

Gameplay loop is incredibly addictive, but sometimes situations are inherently unwinnable. Unlike something like FTL where I feel my poor choices led to my demise, watching a boss refill its health bar in front of me does not leave me feeling like I had a chance at all
I've never played any CCG-cardgames, but I thought the roguelike aspect of this game looked fun, so I decided to buy it on sale.
But, very unlike traditional roguelikes, I beat this on the third or fourth run!
Not at all like FTL, where you try over and over and over, 50 runs, 100 runs, and still go on to maybe finally some day beat that last level.
In Slay the Spire though, a total newbie can finish it in a few runs, hardly knowing how it works.
After that we are supposed to finish it again and again and again, in some ascension mode where it gets harder after every run, and see if you can reach 20 successful runs.
Nah, I really don't like that idea. I would have prefered if it was just extremely hard from the beginning, like FTL or most other roguelikes.
But I'm no fan or expert in cardgames like this anyway, so my review will probably only be relevant for others in my situation - someone looking for a different roguelike, thinking the cards might be fun for a change.
Well, they are ... for a few hours ...
Don't get me wrong, it's fun, but is it just me or is it really short and easy?
Winning 1/3 of games feels really high for a roguelite, and that isn't even "in the endgame" when I have everything unlocked and know all the strategies. I mean that me, a complete newbie starting a new game, was able to win the game on ALL 4 CHARACTERS within three attempts without looking up any tutorials, walkthroughs or guides. That's really easy, right?
I don't really get how so many people in the GoG/Steam reviews are talking about how there's "endless content" and "one more run" etc. What endless content? I have 20 hours in the game and aside from imposing self-restrictions to get some achievements (which I don't care about) I seem to have unlocked and seen everything there is in the game.
Am I missing something?
It's a shame because what little there is does feel fun and intuitive and bug-free despite the ridiculous amount of different interactions with all the items and cards.
Been playing this for 6 months and can never get past 2nd level boss. This game depends on random cards you get so there is no way to progress. 5 star ratings are BS.
