Description
Life between myths. Lead your clan into legend or obscurity. Six Ages: Ride Like the Wind is a storybook strategy game, immersing you in a land of old gods and magic.

Hundreds of small encounters build into an epic, multi-generational tale of survival and inter-clan alliances. Six Ages is the spiritual successor to acclaimed King of Dragon Pass, taking place thousands of years earlier in the same shared world of Glorantha. Part role-playing, part resource management, you'll always be making decisions with long-term consequences, for you and your clan.

  • Design your own clan, visit the gods, become respected, raid your neighbors' cows
  • Over 400 interactive story scenes, with deep simulation systems driving their appearance and outcomes
  • Multiple difficulty levels, and the option for Iron Willed players to limit reloading
  • Gorgeous hand-painted high-resolution illustrations
  • Same world as King of Dragon Pass, but a new clan: the Riders, with their own myths, and 4x more world to explore
  • Discover, appease, and make deals with spirits in your territory

Glorantha is a highly detailed Bronze Age world, similar in many ways to our own. But it exists in a magical universe where the laws of physics are subordinate to the whims of the gods and spirits. To understand Glorantha, leave our mundane world and enter the world of myth. The Sun is a living god, not a nearby star. Countless gods exist, some even more powerful than the Sun, and all have the power to directly affect humanity.

In Six Ages, you play specifically as a Riders clan, who revere various gods in their particular mythology, including Gamari the Horse Mother, and your culture hero, Hyalor... but you would be foolish to forget Raven the Trickster. He has not forgotten you.

Glorantha is also the setting of other rich narrative games/experiences, including King of Dragon Pass, HeroQuest, RuneQuest, God Wars, and others.

Love it (^-^)

Loving the writing, beautifull art and music of the game, the game has a nice, stylised UI thats also (from my experience) more intuitive than that of King of Dragon Pass (set in the same world as that game). Since this game seems to be set a couple thousand years before the events of that game its not a requirement to play that one furts, you can just jump straight into this one. I found the tutorial and game tips to be good, and even if youre already a KoDP veteran i still reccomend you keep them turned on since theres a couple new mechanics (like ventures) that are explained thru these. The game will be getting more content soon, in the form of two new campaigns set later in the world's lore as its teased at in the game's campaign select menu so it'll be wonderfull to go back and play thru those too once the update happens. If theres one reason you shouldnt buy the game which i can think of rn is that its exclusively on Wndows 10 so it wont run on your computer if you dont have that operating system, otherwise its an experience rarely found nowadays in gaming, besides this game's predecesor theres nothing quite like it out there.

Near perfection, only missing the ducks.

As usual this is an utter masterpiece, combining real gameplay decisions, great music, fantastic lore, and interesting art (although I liked KODP's art style better). The only thing I was sad to see were that there were no DUCKS! or Durulz from the previous game and Glorantha lore. I understand this is NOT where the ducks live, so they can't be here, but I miss the hilarious Donald duck looking chaos fighters. As this is not a real weakness, I have not taken a star off. But remember to buy King of Dragon Pass for Duck goodness, and also buy this game so we can get a sequel, hopefully with ducks. The ducks will thank you.

Bronze Age adventure at it's finest!

(To start, apologies for my bad english, I'm not a native speaker. >.<) If you are searching for a diferent type of fantasy world, far from that generic Middle Age type fantasy, this is definetly your game! Me and my wife are graduated of History and Arheology of the Acient Age respectively, and we have been analysing both the images/representations and the texts, and we have determined that are very close to both the material culture and the ideology of the bronze age, at least in Oriental Europe. Also, the religious part of the story is very close to the interpretations of the investigators about this, with some changes to make it more rich. An overall good Barbarian Clan strategy game, with a good story and a diferent ambientation.

A worthy Succesor to King of Dragon pass

What can i say? After i completed King of Dragon Pass ages ago. I tried looking for another game like it and never found one and Trust me... i really searched all over. Awesome game and that mixes Civ Management with killer narrative game play. Waited 19 years and it is seriously one of a kind and will not be able to find anything similar. I am not sure if this is true but the Spirit Quest seem alot more balanced now as back in the King of Dragon Pass days, that was the one thing that WAY hard to get right and hope your Journeyman did not kick the can after. A welcome change for sure. A definite recommend. Having a great time with it.

Six Ages has devoted fans for a reason

Everything about this game is great. It's complex, interesting, and can be played in completely different ways on each playthrough. It's one of those games that not millions of people have played, but those who have played it love it. Playing this game is like reading a good story, but it doesn't ever forget that it's a game and that people are playing for that aspect as well. It's not very expensive and you're guaranteed to get more than your money's worth.
