FIGHT THE PAST TO SAVE THE FUTURE. STOP THE SINGULARITY.

Learn the truth behind a massive cover-up of the catastrophic SINGULARITY, an event that fractured time and threatens the world as we know it. Armed with powerful, advanced weaponry and the experimental Time Manipulation Device, fight enemies from the past, the present, and abominations caught somewhere in between.

TIME IS YOUR WEAPON
- Use the TMD – Time Manipulation Device – to change the age of objects and enemies and bend time to your will.
- Age enemies to dust in seconds, manipulate objects outside the laws of gravity, and degrade objects to a withered state or renew them to their pristine form.
- Unlock upgrades to harness the TMD’s full power and expand your full arsenal of advanced weaponry.

EPIC SCI-FI ACTION THRILLER
- Heart-pounding, first person combat action that immerses you in a world where the past and present collide.
- Travel seamlessly between two eras – 1950s Russia and modern day – each rendered with stunning lighting, physics, and effects using the Unreal 3 Engine.

UNRAVEL THE CONSPIRACY
- Traverse the blur between the past and future in order to stop the mysterious SINGULARITY that threatens the world.

Typical early 2010s shooter

Singularity is best described as a game with Rage syndrome. Although made by a different studio on a different engine, just like Rage it's main quality is just how generic most of the game is. The setting is pretty cool, with all the time travel shenannigans (and equipment that utilizes said time travel) and Soviet-style theme. You've got a device that allows you to manipulate time - you can age or repair objects with it. The problem is that although visually spectacular, it doesn't change the game much - it all boils down to sometimes having to press an extra button to create cover or get health packs. Like many shooters of that era, the player's mobility is severily limited. Jump is useless, you are relatively slow, and your character gets tired after 5 seconds of sprinting. The shooting is OK. It's not bad. It's not good. It's just OK - perhaps symptomatic of the whole game. The levels are mostly forgettable, with the typical grey industrial/military theme. There are very few set pieces that are actually worth remembering. At least some of the designs are pretty cool, like how the guns look like. Speaking of guns - the arsenal is also painfully standard. You get your assault rifle, shotgun, railgun-kinda-thing, pistol... The only thing worth remembering is the grenade launcher that lets you guide grenades, although that has very limited usefullness. The game also seems to lack polish. It runs on Unreal Engine 3, but a lot of the textures are so blurry they'd be ugly even on UE 2. There are glitches, including one where a key character falls through the floor while talking about crucial plot points. Finally, what I found bothersome was the limited FOV and heavy camera wobble when moving. It can't be adjusted either, so if you tend to get motion sickness be aware of that. The game was about 4 - 5 hours long, which is just about enough given its genericness. At least it doesn't overstay its welcome.

More Than Just A Shooter

Singularity is a good experience for fans of the first person shooting genre, this is a game that has a nice ideas and reasonable execution. It will not set the planet on fire with the mechanics or storytelling, graphically it does have reasonable merit however. -Gameplay Guns shoot, variety is reasonable, human enemies shoot back, push forward and use cover which is all nice, the monsters however have excellent gameplay, the fact that they use throwables which you can steal and throw back is a very fun mechanic. Puzzles with the TMD (The Usp of the game) are not too challenging as it shouldn't be for first person shooter players but it does seem fun to age/de-age objects to solve problems. The leveling system is allright, it does impact the game and give unique buffs but they arent that dynamic the differences aren't big but do give you an Edge, but thats about it. If you do not want to collect the E99 points to spend then this a good thing I suppose. Difficulty is good, While I did die at points at various points sometimes however the stock of health packs is quite generous. Folks who play fps's in general may want to play on Hard as I have. But beware the Bug Enemy is a headache and does too much damage. The strategy is to melee then while in the bubble shield. apart from this everything is great. -Soundtrack It doesn't rock your world but it has its place, It does highlight key moments and provide action scenes with more punch than usual. The ambient tracks fill the void nicely too, -Graphics and Art Even despite this not being Crysis the look of the game is really good, the alt history setting coupled with a semi-nuked world lead it a really spooky ambiance, especially in the beginning. As an FPS I thought it was going to be shooting people all day, but the tone early on with art and and visuals was really attention grabbing and slow at first. -Technical problems I did not experience a single one, granted i have a pc from 2020 Short and fun game!

A decent game from a bygone era

Singularity is a product of its time. Its levels are linear, its color palette is dull, movement is slooow and you can only carry 2 weapons at a time. It features yet another silent protagonist that has military training but can’t sprint for more than 5 seconds. I also have mixed feelings on the fact that it uses a checkpoint system for saving progress, however the checkpoints are frequent enough that I can overlook it. Luckily, other aspects of the game shine through. Those linear levels I mentioned earlier, they’re much more tense and atmospheric than the open-worlds we’re used to now. Gunplay feels responsive and satisfying, which comes as no surprise considering the game was made by Raven Software, the developers of “Soldier of Fortune”. But the real highlight of this show is the TMD (Time Manipulation Device). Similar to Half Life 2’s Gravity Gun, the TMD sees a lot more usage here, from relying on it during combat encounters to using it for some minor puzzle solving. In the end, my biggest gripe with Singularity is that it’s too short. I found its campaign entertaining enough to wish it lasted longer. If you do try it out, be sure to do something about that narrow FOV. I used “Widescreen Fixer” myself, though I heard “Flawless Widescreen” also works.

Classic FPS worth buying.

Still plays well in 2021. Although it reminds some other games like Bioshock and Wolfenstein, it it really enjoyable, shooting is smooth, atmosphere is involving, some simple riddles to controverse combat are nice too. Maybe it's too linear, but for classic FPS it's not a real problem. So i recommend to try, if you're not scared, because sometimes this game is spooky. Have fun, game has it!

It does have controller support!

Despite not being listed, it does have controller support and plays like a dream on Windows 11.
