FIGHT THE PAST TO SAVE THE FUTURE. STOP THE SINGULARITY.

Learn the truth behind a massive cover-up of the catastrophic SINGULARITY, an event that fractured time and threatens the world as we know it. Armed with powerful, advanced weaponry and the experimental Time Manipulation Device, fight enemies from the past, the present, and abominations caught somewhere in between.

TIME IS YOUR WEAPON
- Use the TMD – Time Manipulation Device – to change the age of objects and enemies and bend time to your will.
- Age enemies to dust in seconds, manipulate objects outside the laws of gravity, and degrade objects to a withered state or renew them to their pristine form.
- Unlock upgrades to harness the TMD’s full power and expand your full arsenal of advanced weaponry.

EPIC SCI-FI ACTION THRILLER
- Heart-pounding, first person combat action that immerses you in a world where the past and present collide.
- Travel seamlessly between two eras – 1950s Russia and modern day – each rendered with stunning lighting, physics, and effects using the Unreal 3 Engine.

UNRAVEL THE CONSPIRACY
- Traverse the blur between the past and future in order to stop the mysterious SINGULARITY that threatens the world.

Singularly intersting

Singularity is a FPS where you play an American lieutenant sent in to investigate a mysterious island where one of their satellites was downed flying over off the East coast off Russia. It turns out that there was a mysterious element discovered there which gives great energy, can be used in weapons and power sources, exposure to it can cause mutation and it can fuel a time manipulation device. You have some pretty cool powers including aging and de-aging objects to gain access to places you might not be able to otherwise. Guns feature some standard ones as well as some interesting ones. Enemies both human and especially mutant are varied and interesting, there are modern elite soldiers with resistance to your abilities, mutants with some interesting abilities and a boss type monster earlier on. The story is pretty good too. It is an interesting one where you want to find out more with taped recordings telling part of it and the narrative others. The characters are pretty interesting too. The ending gives you choice to take one of 4 options even if 1 is essentially nothing changes, the other 3 have dramatic effects. It’s a short game but that’s a welcome relief from bloated do this minor quest, collect this rabbits ear open world games which think forcing you to sink time into things is a good replacement for a engrossing story, gameplay and narrative. Very much enjoyed.

Fun (but linear) story based FPS game

Singularity is a fun, story based FPS game. It has elements that make it somewhat similar to Bioshock, Half Life 2, Dishonored and Metro. Game mechanics are fun, with interesting physics based puzzles. Gunplay is satisfying but not exceptional. The storyline is interesting (albeit short) and can keep you interested in the game. The soviet thematic is a very exaggerated, but doesn't take too much away from the experience. The one major critique I have for the game is that it is very linear (a-la Half Life 2). You get used to this but early on the invisible walls or sections you can't just go to (for no apparent reason) are a bit immersion breaking. I usually don't like games like this, but this one managed to keep me hooked. The other (minor) issue is the FOV which is small compared to modern games. I played it on Linux and it ran fine, out of the box, under Wine/Lutris.

Raven did better

Well, like everything else - it's a matter of taste. For me, this game is somewhat mediocre. Upgrading skills and weapons is not really necessary, you could play through just fine without it. Maps do feel pretty much the same, most of the time. Not much variation and very linear as well. There are quite a few areas where you have to fight annoying little insects, which explode on impact (i personally hate small & fast enemies) and the story is told mostly by notes and voice records, which are scattered through the maps. Not very entertaining, if you ask me. It's an OK game to buy, if it's on sale, but Raven has done better before.

Solid 4 out of 5

Good action and fun mechanics. Weird plot and iffy Russian. I wish they did more research. There were times I rolled my eyes hard at another silly line. But that didn't make me hate the game. It's ok for one playthrough. Miles behind my favorite FPS, Bioshock. Lacking a bit in certain aspects. Not exactly memorable, besides the very beginning when the atmosphere was all tense and horror-like. That and the train boss battle. After that it's all the same.

Closest Resistance series analogue

You don't have console or time to use emulator to play Resistance series FPSs, then just play this one, it's even better story wise and have the same enemy design
