The game looks worse than the original. I don't see why would anyone with normal vision apply a filter that would make the same game look worse in 2018 than it did in 1993.
Luckily, I bought both of the Simon games on GOG before those 25th Anniversary Editions popped up and, man, was I smart to do that. It looks like the original games are no longer available here and are replaced by these "enhanced" editions.
Given GOG's content review policies and guidelines for admitting a game on the store, it's shameful that games like this so-called "enhanced" edition make it on the platform.
The HD graphics are just a quick and dirty Super 2xSal filter that blurs and generally destroys the graphics. Stay well away.
This version ruins everything that made the original great. The "HD" is a horrible looking graphics filter, and the new UI is atrocious. I cannot think for the life of me why a company would ruin a completely fine game and inexplicably remove the original from being available for purchase. If they want to sell this HD version for suckers to fall for, fine, but don't remove the original as well unless you absolutely hate your customers. I think your actions speak for themselves, GoG.
Couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the quality of this release. A classic game of this stature doesn't deserve a "25th Anniversary Edition" like this.
Yes, the 25th anniversary version is bad. But the original can no longer be bought on GOG separately. So just think of it as paying for the original version and getting the "update" as a bonus.
