Cozy apartment 10/10
Pleasntly suprised how well this game runs being 20+ years old. It doesn't like to tab out, but other than that my only complaint is the 30 fps lock, sitting far back from my monitor avoided headaches. As for the game, a bit of a change from the standard Silent Hill formula, but by far one of my favorites, don't listen to the hate.

Great experience but a bit repetitive
This is the second Silent Hill game I completed (the first one being Shattered Memories on Wii). As expected, the gameplay is not the best part of this game even if the "special" mechanic of the second half of the game and the variety of ennemies make the game somewhat fun and not that basic. The main strenght of this game is the overall atmosphere of a psychological horror game with many info to discover from papers, etc. The plot itself is kinda sparse but what I like is the ability of the series (I also played Rule of Rose which I consider very close) to visually tell something (the settings, the small details allude to the overaching plot but also - more importantly - the backstory as well as the psychological aspects...to sum up the game make use of symbolism a lot). The principle of this game with the "safe" locked Room 302 we are in and the holes leading to the différents "worlds" is also interesting though it became a bit repetitive because you will revisit them. The areas can be a bit long but the ability to get back to the Room and save+breathe°do things to make the game avance (no spoiler but tere are interactions between the Room and the "worlds"/situations) mitigates this weakness. The endings (I had the best one but to be honest I played on easy, I only wanted to experience the story and that was pretty fine, you still must be a bit careful but not much) were great and the worst one embodied the weirdness of this surreal game more. I would put a 4.5 stars for the somewhat repetitive aspect (not a huge deal though) but this score does not exist and nowadays 5/5 can be seen as bad so I put 5 stars. Technical note: the game supports controller (I played with the the XBOX Elite 2 one wireless) BUT you must connect it before launching the game. If the controller idisconnects when you are in the game, you cannot play with it anymore unless you restart the game and the kb/m controls are terrible so beware.

Good Port
Silent Hill is my jam if you haven't noticed. Glad to see this port running good and at 1080p. Wish we could do 60 frames but I don't even think the Original XBox could pull that off. Still the game I remember 20 years later. Awesome lore if you have an understanding of the first 4 games. It's kind of a sequel to 2 but if you watch The Real Silent Hill Experience, they break down how Walter was another vector for the cult to birth their god. Anyways, if you like good horror games then Silent Hill 1-4 are a must.
