War rages on. During an air raid, 16 year old Noah and his little sister Renie seek shelter in a bunker. There, not only are they protected from the deadly bombardment, but are also at the crossroads of a world between life and death: Silence. When Noah’s sister gets lost in Silence, he is forced to venture into this idyllic yet threatening world to find her.
Silence, however, bears its own scars of war and suffering. Dark creatures haunt towns and cities and ravage this once serene place between worlds. Only a small band of rebels stands against the looming menace. Now it is up to the siblings to save Silence and its fantastic inhabitants from impending doom and thus also save their own lives.
Join Noah and Renie on their exciting journey through Silence where an emotionally gripping story of contrasts between serenity and danger unfolds. Meet fascinating and likeable characters like Spot, the magical caterpillar who helps Noah and Renie on their way through Silence. And witness when the siblings discover that the only thing that can save them is their love for each other.
Elaborately designed 3D characters and opulent 2D backgrounds

There will be exciting new characters, but also a reunion with old friends
There are so many things to LIKE about "Silence". The storyline is brilliant, the characters engaging and interesting, the artwork and animations are TOP NOTCH, and it all ties together to create a truly magical, emotional, experience of adventure, mystery, and problem-solving. You won't want to set Silence down as you'll always be wondering "what's going to happen next"?
Way to easy. Nice game for parents who want to experience a good story with their child. Interacting together on a pc is better than watching tv with them.
Predecessor "The Whispered World" is too difficult for young kids, but way the better game.
Everything perfect, except storyline ending a bit illogical
Got this game in order to practice Polish and German. It has many other languages as well so for practicing languages it is a good tool. Very beautiful game, wonderful graphics and the storyline was also beautiful, except the ending did not make much sense. One would have expected a fairytale to have a happy ending, but the ending was unresolved and abrupt. Also the good characters almost turning on each other in their quest to defeat the evil queen was somewhat illogical, and in the end it is confusing whether the evil queen actually was evil or was she good, and if she was good, how could she send out monsters to achieve her good ends...? Or if she was evil then why choosing to smash the mirror has an unhappy ending?
It would be good if they would make a sequel and tie the loose ends of the storyline to make a happy ending.
Silence reminds me of the old joke about a sign in a store which says: Quality, Selection, Service, Price - Choose any Three.
Silence has Beatiful graphics, WONDERFUL music, Excellent Characters (and English Voice Actors / Actresses), and a Great - but ultimately flawed - story. The problem with the story is there are too many loose ends by the time the credits appear. It is as if the developers purposely did not finish the whole story so as to be able to create a Silence 2 game. Everything else about the game - including the story itself - is Top Notch!
One item to note is the last Game Save occurs just BEFORE the player's final decision is made in the game. So it is possible to replay the last bit of the game and select the other alternative. (Doing so will allow the player to get both ending "Achievements" - instead of just one - for those who care about such things.) In addition, seeing the outcome of both choices does help with providing a more complete picture of the story.
The music is very relaxing and well done. I whole-heartedly recommend spending a little more to purchase the soundtrack / version with the soundtrack.
No bugs nor issues were encountered while installing or playing the game. The key specification for my computer are: i9-9900K, 32 Gigs of RAM, GTX 1080 with 8 Gigs, Windows 10, and two SSD drives.
This game is Highly Recommended despite not all of the loose ends being addressed. I will be among the first to purchase Silence 2. ( I'm keeping my fingers crossed there will be a Silence 2.)
Enjoy the game!
set many years later, with completely different art style and gameplay, it has very little to do with the whispered world. good news, playing that is ill-advised and this recaps/spoils it in the first 5 minutes anyway. also has very little to do with point & click adventures. it's a gamepad-centric interactive movie a'la telltale, full of qte, timed (sometimes with a hidden timer) interactions with fail states, unskippable cutscenes and no manual saving.
only sparse checkpoints, can't quit on your own terms without losing progress. instead of autosaving after every action, they only happen between locations, with a long loading screen every time between every single screen, makes puzzles with a lot of back and forth even more tedious. what's worse, gotta rewatch lengthy cutscenes next time because saving happens before, not after. no active inventory, very basic controls, both mouse buttons do the same, no rebinds, and not every line of dialog is skippable. no rhyme or reason, just another thing done badly.
it's very pretty yet again, with much better voiceovers, except spot makes annoying noises now. resolutions, overall gfx quality setting, windowed mode, v-sync, buggy separate volumes (music only takes effect after a load screen), spoken and written languages, subtitles with customizable size and optionally instant (great if you hate the annoying typewriter effect as much as me), various hint settings (outline on mouseover, hints on top, hotspot indicator, object names). nothing to make shorter/easier work of quick-time events, including timed choices. accessibility is for the birds. no chapter select after completion either.
another missed opportunity to create something great. just like tww, its best and almost only positive aspect is the presentation and that doesn't matter in the slightest. and what's with the 12-hour lie on the store page? it's 6 hours tops, half of which is loading screens.
