Discover the New World and fulfill your Manifest Destiny!

The New World lies before you with all its peril, promise, and infinite possibility: your colonists anxiously follow you to shore and the treasures of an entire continent await you. But beware of your enemies! Angry natives and rival powers can encroach upon your territory. You'll have to overcome your foes with superior military strategy and wily diplomacy. Only then can you launch your revolution and declare your independence.

Players control either English, French, Dutch, or Spanish colonists in the New World. This New World can be the historically accurate Americas (North and South) or a randomly generated world with varying resources and challenges. Overseeing economic, military, and political growth, you strive to establish independence from the mother country while competing with other colonies for control of the New World.

Plant a foothold in the New World and establish your independence in Sid Meier’s Colonization!
  • Play either the French, English, Dutch, or Spanish colonial powers, each with distinct characteristics and political situations.

Almost the greatest game ever

Colonization gives you hours of game play and and each game is different from the last... Sid Meier is the king of strategy and game play.

Just One More Turn

Enjoying this throwback too much. Excellent manual as an extra to download. 90s PC gaming fun. Taking up a lot of my time exploring, dealing with other Europeans and native populations and trying to survive if not thrive through revolution. I am entranced.

A Unrecognised Classic

This often gets overshadowed by Sid Meier's Civilization and whiilst I love that game it had sequels so we all moved on. Colonization did not get a sequel until decades later an dit was built on the Coiv engine so a totally different game. Simple graphics and simple turn based gameplay that really stands the test of time. I started playing this after release and am still playing 30 years later which says it all. Sat playing now on my holiday in Turkey looking out to sea and truly am in my happy place.
