Players control either English, French, Dutch, or Spanish colonists in the New World. This New World can be the historically accurate Americas (North and South) or a randomly generated world with varying resources and challenges. Overseeing economic, military, and political growth, you strive to establish independence from the mother country while competing with other colonies for control of the New World.

Blast from the past
Used to play this game all the time. Had it on an emulator at one point but it stopped working. Glad I found this. Plays like the original, except I still haven't found a way to skip the opening cinematics. Otherwise, good times.

Still Holds up
I got this game on 3 inch floppy disks in the 90's. Played it for hours and hours. I still open it up and play with YT on in the background. Great way to destress. The remake they did based on Civ 4 is also pretty good, but the nostalgia is pretty strong.
