The best Civ experience
Simply the best Civ game - I feel like the series really peaked here.

Simply the best
After all these years Civilization IV is still the pinnacle of the series. All leaders are historically significant instead of being C-tier filler for the purposes of not hurting anyone's feelings (looking at you, Civilization VI). The only downside is the end-game which tends to drag on a bit if you reach the modern times.

Outstanding Civ!
I'm by no means a Civ expert, but Civ 4 is a well-balanced game: It's way more fast-paced than Civ 3 and 6 (at least to me), and it the AI offers just enough help with suggestions to keep the game rolling rather than interupting the flow. I also appreciate how you can win the game diplomatically. You can peacefully without having to nuke other nations. Overall, a lot of fun to play and well-designed!

A great game
It requires more micromanagement than Civ 3 or 5, but it's worth the time. A pity there are few differences between different civs, compared with civ 5.
