Leonard Nimoy! And what a soundtrack!
Plenty of reviews talk about what's really great here, but I just wanna add that EACH technology (among other things) is narrated by Leonard Nimoy (Mr Spock), and it has a fantastic soundtrack. That is all, good luck in Civ IV :)

The Best Civilization Ever Because of the Mods
The best Civilization version ever, because of the mods. If you are into fantasy the entire Fall From Heaven series, inspired by Master of Magic, is the best turn based fantasy strategy in the history of computer gaming—in my ever-so-humble opinion. The best of that series is Ashes of Erebus. Even though AoE isn't finished, and still has some issues, it's depth of game play and variety is unparalleled. What sets the Fall from Heaven series apart is the depth of game play and the quality of the user generated art. Civilization IV seemed to hit that sweet spot where the game was beautiful, but the art wasn't so complex that it was inaccessible to modders. I think for a lot of newer games, where they aren't trying to nickle and dime you to death, the artwork is so complex to produce that it is far less accessible to hobbyists and casual modders. Having said that, there is nothing casual about the quality of many of the mods available for this version of Civilization.cc

A good Civilization with mods.
I bought this game on as sale to play Caveman2Cosmos mod, the civ 4 UI isn't the best, especially managing many cities is tedious, but all the different management angles and diplomacy and the detailed technologies and concepts in caveman2cosmos mod make the game fun. If you want borderless fullscreen window, use the free software 'Borderless Gaming' App available on github. (win +F6) It works well on windows 10.

Never played a Civilization game before.
Runs flawless on Windows 10. First time playing a civilization game. So glad I bought it after the first day I already understand " just one more turn".... auto save after every turn is nice. Definitely worth the full price I paid.
