Sid Meier's Civilization® III Complete

Best strategy game there is. It takes some time to get a feeling for what's a good strategy, which technologies and resources are most important etc. But once you do, civ 3 is so much fun. But of course the game is very old and some people would probably think it's too ugly and that the menues look a bit dated.

...caveats. The AI literally cheats as it knows about everything on any given map and will operate accordingly. This creates a particularly annoying challenge that is partly fun and somtimes very annoying but i have clocked more than 300 hours with it and have been playing it since I was in university when it released so I guess I like this type of punishment. : D

Civ3 is the best of the Civ series. It differentiates its units by separate Attack and Defense values, allowing truly distinct unit and unit actions. It's the first in the series to use borders that grow intrinsically. From a solid tech tree to the single best editor in this or any game series, Civ3 stands out. It's easy to truly get lost in the "one more turn" dynamic. Fantastic and to-date unrivalled.

This game I've been playing for many many years and still surprises me sometimes and even if its not Real 3D, but Isometic it is still amazing@!

Civ 3 and Civ 5 (minus some of the DLCs) are my favorites in the series, neither is perfect but I like them far more than Civ 4 or 6 or the new one that shall not be named. The Complete Version (Civ 3) adds even more depth. I have wasted (sorry, spent) many, many hours on both the above games.
