Simply amazing
Civ2 has always been one of my favourite games. I really spent countless hours playing it. I heard of it back then, but I never played Alpha Centauri - until now. And I have to say it is simply amazing. It somehow goes even deeper than Civ2!

No effin' way. I was just thinking of replaying that game, searching for the CD, when I thought: "Hey, maybe GOG has it". Then I come here and it's there. GOG, I love you.

The Pinnacle of "Civilization"
this game is the best rendition of the Civilization series, despite its name. SMAC besides its awesome premise, developed many of the design choices that future civ games would hint at, from the social engineering to the personalized armies. I probably would not have got into TBS if i hadnt played this game 3 years ago, but i will say, that if you are looking for a strategy game come to this one first

Amazing Game Even Today
I love the Civilization games, but I had never played Alpha Centauri before it was available on gog.com. Even playing Alpha Centauri today it is still an amazing game and makes me wish current Civ games were more like it.
