Quality Casual Game
If you've spent any time on a place like MacGameStore, you're well familiar with this kind of title. It's a casual solitaire game with light RPG/dress-up mechanics on top. It works well, I never felt particularly over- or under-powered, and the balance of solo and duel rounds kept it from getting monotonous. The storyline is pretty standard casual game female protagonist fare. Writing is good, and you might even have to bust out the dictionary to remind yourself of the old spelling of gaol or what an ostler does. If you're OK with casual games and like a bit of solitaire, then this is a solid title. Personally I think GOG should have more of this type of casual game on here. A lot of the genre is shovelware, to be sure, but there is a lot of fun to be had in the quality ones, and I would count this among that latter category. I do think $15 is a bit steep for what is here. The game is long enough to justify the price, but not deep or varied enough. I would wait for a sale.
