The Shadow Warrior 2: Bounty Hunt Part 2 content update delivers thirteen thrilling new missions, two spectacular new weapons, and three powerful new perks for Lo Wang and the gang. Strap on your katana and go for one last ride alone or in co-op through missions like Lost Girls, Missing Yakuza, and Danger Zone with new weapons like the Tactical Bullet Spewing Machine (TBSM).

The Shadow Warrior 2: Bounty Hunt Part 1 content update piles on the action with fourteen wild new missions, two dazzling new weapons, and four tantalizing new perks for Lo Wang and the gang. Battle alone or with up to four ninjas in crime in some of the most over the top missions yet like Plague of the Bunny Lords, 50 Shades of Shade, and Danger Zone on Mt. Akuma. Strike at the demon hordes with new perks like Revenge and Shared Pain or arm up with the new Medusa Ray and EX-GF01 minigun.

Shadow Warrior 2’s The Way of the Wang Content Update opens up a new area within the game’s hub town, presenting seven special trials for Lo Wang to unlock and overcome. Players will be able to earn new crafting abilities, weapon gem slots, and base weapon stat upgrades upon completing each new trial with the new Fist of Gozu battle axe awaiting those warriors that complete all of the trials. The update also includes three new tiers for Insane difficulty and five new achievements to unlock in the campaign.

Shadow Warrior 2 is the stunning evolution of Flying Wild Hog’s offbeat first-person shooter following the further misadventures of former corporate shogun Lo Wang. Now surviving as a reclusive mercenary on the edge of a corrupted world, the formidable warrior must again wield a devastating combination of guns, blades, magic and wit to strike down the demonic legions overwhelming the world. Battle alongside allies online in four-player co-op or go it alone in spectacular procedurally-generated landscapes to complete daring missions and collect powerful new weapons, armor, and arcane relics of legend.

Five years have passed since Lo Wang shattered the alliance between his deceitful former boss and the ancient gods of the shadow realm. Despite noble intentions, Lo Wang’s efforts to annihilate the darkness corrupted the world, creating a strange and savage new order where humans and demons live side by side.

The once feared warrior now lives in the shifting wildlands outside the reach of his enemies and the neon glow of Zilla’s cybernetic metropolis, scratching out a meager existence as a hired sword for the local Yakuza clans. When a simple mission goes wrong, Lo Wang is drawn into a volatile conflict between a brilliant young scientist, a controversial cult leader, and a terrifying new drug known as Shade. The sharp-tongued hero must once again wield lethal blades, staggering firepower, and archaic magic to purge the world of evil.
  • Blades and Bullets – Lo Wang delivers his own brand full throttle brutality with an expanded array of over 70 lethal blades and explosive firearms to overcome the demonic opposition. Become a whirlwind of steel and blood with razor sharp katana, short swords, crescent blades, and hand claws or unleash a hellish symphony of ornate firearms to decimate your enemies.
  • Four Player Co-Op – Battle through the expansive campaign alone or team up as a four-player typhoon of destruction online in campaign co-op mode. Tackle challenging primary missions or thrilling side quests while maintaining your own ninja style with customizable armor, items, and valuable loot from your triumphs.
  • Procedural Environments – The breach between the human and demon realms created an interdimensional hernia resulting in constant shifts to the world of Shadow Warrior 2. Procedurally generated landscapes and paths bring new twists and turns to once familiar terrain and routine missions.
  • Brutal Damage System – Choose your weapon based on the situation at hand and then dismantle everything that stands in your path with an advanced gore system. Use precision blade strikes to separate limbs and heads or switch to heavy ordinance and blow a hole right through colossal beasts.
  • Custom Upgrade System – Upgrade weapons in your arsenal with up to three stones at once to improve performance or augment them with devastating elemental effects. Collect karma, amulets, and armor to enhance Lo Wang’s power and shift his death-dealing artistry into overdrive.

Learn to read

Almost all the negative reviews for this game are based on one thing and one thing alone: people who blindly bought something without reading. Shadow Warrior 2 is a loot-based shooter; one of the key aspects of the core gameplay is a constant upgrade process through different "gems" you can insert into your weapons (the weapons themselves are all unique, and not randomly generated), that go from changing their damage type or buffing their stats, to turning them into turrets, explosive weapons, akimbo pistols, etc. The fast paced shooter gameplay of the first Shadow Warrior remake is still there, albeit with some minor differences, but if you're not a fan of loot and upgrades, this game simply isn't for you. While I don't think the game is perfect, there's so much love an effort put into it, and it's so well done, that I think it deserves those 5 stars. Plus it'll help offset the rather stupid 1 star reviews it has undeservingly received.

Flawed but fun

Takes the original FPS formula of Shadow Warrior's 2013 reboot and makes it a hub-based looter-shooter with (Galaxy-only) co-op. Gameplay is insanely fun (rivaling DOOM 2016), the soundtrack is first-rate, and the graphics are generally good (distance textures are low-res tho). But the same levels are repeatedly - REPEATEDLY - re-used over and over, advanced character builds are based around an RNG crafting system, and the story is - kinda bad. Flawed but fun. 6/10

Different paths

-Movement is great. No restrictions, all freedom! -Shooting is satisfying. I love the animations for the most part (see below) -Melee is improved especially the combo system. Tho the heavy attacks have been removed -The looks great. I love the weather effects very much! -Music! -Slicing dudes to pieces never gets old. Set pieces are nice and the level of destruction is very cool. -Zilla City. Nuf said. -Weapon variety. -Funny characters. -I miss Hoji tho Kamiko is great and funny as well. Hell my favourite part is when she mocks Lo Wang at Hojis grave. That was a nice touch. -Armor system is integrated to the gem system and there is no armor pikcup anymore. -No classic weapons. Including the original katana which was available in the remake. -The levels are repetitive. Little variety on themes. -Level generation often bugs out and breaks the game. There were cases when I had to restart the level because I stucked between levels of 2 merged building. Basically houses inside houses and other funny stuff. -The gem system is overwhelming. It requires too much management and the upgrade interface is not as good as in the 2013 version. -No more berserking enemies. -No shuriken. -Where is the classic Shadow Warrior arcade machine? We have Alienware everywhere and those are indestructible for no reason. -Fortune cookie should have been a health boost and there are too many of it. -No alt fire for guns but they have ADS instead. This was a really big disappoint! -Chapter system were better in the 2013 version. In this one you are just jumping from mission to mission without any link between them. The whole pacing is off. -Where are the flying enemies? The drones are basically ground level enemies without legs. There is no real threat in the air. -No puzzles. -Can't "use", fire, slice while casting chi powers. This wasn't the case in the previous game. This is an unnecessary restriction. -SMG reload animation is slowed down and looks silly. Maybe it's a bug. It's the same as in the previous game but really slow. -I miss the ammo check animations when pressing the reload button. I can live without them but I liked them in the previous version.

Where is my Wang?

It's more MMO-like than Shadow Warrior. Skills and lots of weapons, and craft, and grind... There is almost no Wang left comparing to first part. I love first one: it is fun, and takes time to play. Second part is... modern? Open maps, requiring guidance to show where item/boss sitting; a lot of weapons useless in most cases (especially chainsaw katana); upgrade system made me dizzy with a lot of useless items; craft system (why such thing even exists). And cherry: very VERY short story (or is there story at all?). When I finished I've a lot of upgrades available but no resources for them. Resources require worst case of grinding: mess on screen and mouse buttons clicking like a machine gun. Hardware requirements are terribly wrong: I've played well first part on A4-3450/Radeon HD6570 2 Gb, but required i7-8520K/Nvidia 1050 4Gb to play second.

30m of tedium for 10m of action

An incredibly tedious and frustrating game. Incredible action -- better than its predecessor, faster paced, more responsive, with better guns. Despite being a loot-shooter, it correctly chooses to limit the number of guns in the game to a select uniquely designed ones, striking a smart balance between its roots and something closer to Borderlands. Unfortunately, those Borderlands influences seep into the core of the game design. You'll spend 30 minutes sorting through the worthless upgrade trinkets the game constantly throws at you only for 10 minutes of action, followed by another 30 minutes sorting through trinkets. I could not stomach this loop enough to see through the entire game. Replay Shadow Warrior 2013. Don't bother with this game.
