Prepare To Save Scum Edition

In my personal opinion this real time tactical stealth action gem, will give you your money's worth even at full price. If you like stealth action games this game will please you. Even if you aren't a huge fan of stealth action games you might still like it. Art style and music is pretty good, voice acting is solid and the story is compelling. It's not open ended but makes you want to go back to it regardless. I had one crash (which made red text flood the screen and I had to delete my save) but other than that it was smooth sailing. AI is pretty good: tracing foot prints and responding to noise (same as the previous games of this type) is one thing but some guards react to missing guards (whom you killed and hid) and when you're spotted they don't stop searching because you jumped in a bush or hid in a house. Shadow tactics mechanic adds a new advantage and challange to the above mentioned game mechanics. It's easy to learn the basics and leaves the rest up to you in a decent curve. Maps are big and detailed with multiple paths, fun interactable objects (which you don't have to use). I had some issues with controls: due to the camera angle sometimes a move order to a higher ground position sends your guy to a completely different wacky path going to & through low ground. It's most likely me rushing hence misclicking but I have to say I misclicked more in this game (so make sure you check before giving a move order), yet a decent human being would get used to it quickly. As I mentioned in the title "prepare to save scum", not that it's a bad thing. There's even a reminder system for it. Timing can be harsh, in some places game requires precision, so don't expect to rush through a map, even the starting one. To better put it the game leaves managing the pace of your progress to you. You can quicksave between every step or do a chunk and put it behind you. This is definitely a well thought out game and a love note to it's genre.

Old School Meets New School

This is freaking amazing, i'm a big fan of games that have the Commandos like gameplay, i've been playing the demo for this and so far so good this game is killing it, this was a instant buy for me. Can't wait to finish this. Please support this kind of games, we need this.

Finger lickin' Stealth

Shadow Tactics is an amazing tactical stealth game...AND i hate stealth games. Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CDKz_5FkHAM Text: As always, a few lines of text can never compare to a long video so i suggest watching that for the best impression. Show tactics does things.. right. They don't try to push a new art style, or try to "innovate" on the UI. They don't shackle it to a consoles restrictions or other things we've come to see everywhere. They have decided an a phenomenally well put together visual style, that they have kept consistent and unique across multiple levels and missions. The UI is clean and informs you about things so you know when, what and where you need to be efficiently. It doesn't bedazzle with "fancy", it polishes that which it knows works to a shine. The PC Build is fantastic with a slew of options and a very solid performance. Gameplay wise it's either love it or hate it. The games focus is singular and it executes that damn well, but if you don't enjoy stealth / stealth tactics games, then you'll find nothing else here. It's designed around creating very interesting levels, where you can explore and fiddle around in to complete them in various ways and with various challenges. Stealth and methodical gameplay is rewarded, and the story rich world and time-period lend themselves to it quite well, coupled with very well put together sound design, every part of this games is REALLY well put together. The various difficulty levels are diverse and caters to various levels of "hardcore" . If there is a critique i can find, it's that i'm a bit sad that they have shoehorned characters into specific roles with various restrictions. From simple "cant get on the roof" to the more invasive of not having a character (or characters) available for various missions. And while this means you need to keep experimenting to figure new solutions, it's also a shame that restricts players in the options available in a level.

Awesome. Didnt expecto to be so good.

Yeah, awesome game. Pretty graphics and fantastic scenarios. Easier than Commandos (at least the first 4 missions...) but the visual style is so fucking incredible for this type of games. I like the characters as well. Each so different from another, and you can chose two or three diferent tactics in some parts of the scenarios, depending on the characters and the approach you have choosen (kill, sneak,...). Buy it. Really, buy it.
