Serious Sam: The First Encounter

Fast-pace frentic action in wide-open locations with colourful and distinctive enemies. No plot to speak of, and none needed. Still a classic of the FPS genre.

A really fun, Doom-style shooter. The controls can take some getting used to if you're used to more modern shooters, but it's still a good time nonetheless. Also, it's sold at a reasonable price. It took 6 hours to beat this game, and the game itself is only six bucks (and you can usually get for cheaper when it's on sale (and it goes on sale all of them.)) If you like fast-paced, run-and-gun first person shooters, give this a try.

Short, sweet, fun and still good looking. Soundtrack is pretty awesome, level desing is great and it can be pretty challenging game as well. Absolute blast from the past!

Yes fun stuff

While at times some levels and fights drag on for far too long, Serious Sam: The First Encounter remains in the FPS hall of fame for its fun and absolutely crazy gameplay. Couple that with a very likeable protagonist, an unique tone and huge scope, its no wonder why SS: TFE is so well remember even today, more than 20 years after its release. Old School FPS at its Finest.
