SENGOKU 3 is a side scrolling action game first released in 2001. Choose one of the 4 initial characters to play with and set off on an adventure around the world destroying evil spirits that were awoken by the red moon. This sequel takes on a new gaming dynamic from its predecessors by incorporating a ninja (shinobi) gauge which when filled allows you to launch several different Ninja Art attacks against your enemies.
The new system allows you to use both armed and unarmed attacks to adeptly execute and link combos, increasing your character's attack power. Use high-powered ninja arts and combos to decimate your enemies in this action-packed final installment of this epic series.
Very skill based game, ahead of its era on almost ever aspect except...enemy variety unfortunately. The graphics are something you will definetely not except of a game of 2001
The game was okay, nothing about the game really stood out, but I wasn’t a bad game either. It took me maybe 60-90 minutes to complete, so I got my 8 quarters worth out of it.
You start off with 4 characters to choose from, as you progress you unlock 2 more characters, although I believe once you play through the game a second time, you have to re-unlock those additional 2 characters, which is kind of lame. I enjoyed switching between the characters, but found myself favoring Kurenai the most.
Unless I find someone to play the game with, I don’t see myself replaying this one any time soon.
The control keys on keyboqaard are static and set up in an awkward way without the ability to remap them as far as I can tell. Sucky experience for me. Gonna try ReWASD to remap them on controller usually works ok.
Brings back memories of final fight and streets of rage but i missed this title being i never played it until now. only complaint is my controller doesn't work on this title but still had fun playing once i got used to the keyboard.
As one review pointed out, you do get a rom for this game you can use with other emulation software, so that's something.
But this is a trash inferior port of the game where you have shoddy low-budget presentation, no resoltion/widescreen support, no real controller options, and probably a host of other issues.
WTF.
