SENGOKU 3

Please refer to my Samurai Showdown review for details, but here's the case in a nutshell: These SNK games now run through a terribly rigid, uncustomizable frontend, Where you cannot even change the button layout. The only thing I'd like to add, that this makes local multiplayer practically impossible. That's one more reason to ignore this version.

Good game, bad port. Not worth it.

Symptom: If you have a high refresh rate monitor the game will sync the fps with the refresh rate. AMD Radeon Chill won't work to force 60fps. Workaround: I downloaded RivaTuner Statistics Server and created a profile for the game. 60 for the frame limit, On-Screen display rendering mode = Vector 2d On-Screen Display coordinate space = framebuffer. Had to do this for all games from DotEmu Snk for them to run normal. If you have a 60hz monitor then the game will run normal out of the box. Only applies for high refresh rate monitors. Awesome game, hopefully this issue gets fixed in the future even though I highly doubt it.

I ended up getting the rom from the installation folder and play it in the WinKawaks emulator.

No, it won't scratch the "Streets of Rage" itch, but it is about as good as Final Fight. The gameplay is as smooth as butter, but it suffers from the genre's cliches. As for the emulation, I'm betting the actual system was a little clunkier, but it feels fine to me :)
