Combining an atmospheric, psychological thriller narrative with paranormal psychic abilities, stealthy exploration and intense shooter action, Second Sight brings a new dimension to stealth action games, giving players control of a character endowed with incredible psychic abilities. The game offers multiple approaches to completing levels either via stealth, dramatic gunplay, psychic powers or a combination of all three. The ability to psychically influence characters and remotely manipulate objects and individuals provides for a totally fresh gameplay dynamic.
Second Sight opens with John Vattic, the player-controlled lead character, as he awakens from a coma in a US medical facility where he has been subjected to traumatic surgery and experimentation. He doesn't know his name, he can't remember his past, all he knows is that his only hope for survival is to escape and unravel the mystery that has led to his imprisonment.

Great concept and story, you get a bit tired of constantly hiding though, and killing 100 enemies only to have more show up. Very fun to mess around with psychic powers
I regret buying this game. In third person the camera shakes, and you cannot control it. This camera control, or the lack of, constantly make the picture shake and shift in some viewing direction you don't want. After 20 Minutes I had to exit, no chance. In first person you cannot move forward or backward, only sideways.
You cannot skip cut-scenes, every time you retry a level you are forced to look the cut-scene.
The save spots are bad placed, and when you exit and re-enter the game you cannot select a save spot, only a level. Forcing you to watch the cut-scene again.
This plays like a bad console port, and for a game from 2005 with a lot of bad design and control decisions.
The one star is for being somewhat unique, the story seems fine as far as I can see, and it works fine on my PC without major issues. Even widescreen and 4K is fine during play, but the cut-scenes are stretched.
Avoid!
I remember this game from my teenage years and was happy when I found it on GOG. The bad thing is, I forgot about the controls- They. are. the. worst. The intro mission took me ~ 30 minutes, just because I couldn't handle the protagonist at all; the static camera always clings to the worst angle possible- this game was obviously a (bad!) console port.
I regret buying this game, even with the huge discount.
I gave this game an Average rating because the gameplay is nice. Unfortunately this game doesn't have widescreen support and there are no known fixes for it.
Second Sight could have been a very good game. The storyline is interesting, graphics are nice and throwing guards around with your psi powers is always fun. But ...
But "Second Sight" suffers from a very bad camera control, a sluggish targeting system and a nearly nonexistent checkpoint system, which forces you to play the majority of the game over and over and over and over. Second Sight may be for people, who have some form of masochistic needs, but everyone else should invest in other titles.
