Scorn

It has a well documented bug in which the game does not launch and you only get a black screen. I wrote to the developer (EBB Software) and here is their reply (spoiler: they just washed their hands): "Hi there! I got your game, Scorn, and would love to play it but I just get a black screen and nothing happens. Using Windows 10 with AMD integrated graphics and DirectX 12. Made sure the installer was not corrupt. Reinstalled the game. Tried to launch it with some parameter> -dx11, dx12, dxd11. Added some DLLs suggested in some articles I found. Tried launching it in compatibility mode with Windows 7 and 8. Tried launching it as admin. Maybe devs have a better idea? Regards." --------------------------------- Their response: "Thanks for reaching out to us, however an AMD integrated graphics card does not meet the minimum requirements for Scorn so we cannot provide support on this issue, it may or may not work depending on the actual model but not something we have planned for the game.  Best regards." --------------------------------- A compelte no no.

Wandering around aimlessly has never been so boring before

This is one of those games that, if I were unemployed, and had no responsibilities, I would recommend playing through in one-sitting. It took me close to five hours to finish Scorn, which some people might find upsetting after waiting all this time to play it, but I think it works in the game's benefit. This is one of those 'experience' games you don't want to unhook from; something grotesque is always developing that will keep your attention. I honestly cannot think of another first-person game where I am contextualizing the protagonist's body within the environment as I play along, it's really something you've gotta see to believe. I'd recommend Scorn if you like things of a philosophical variety and can tolerate a little bit of gameplay jank, similar to 2015's SOMA by Frictional Games. I cannot wait to see what Ebb Software comes up with next because Scorn was exceptional.

This is just to inform that yes this works fine on High settings on GTX 970 at 1080p resolution. Turned off Motion Blur though, personal preference. I was getting the runtime error on Windows 7, fixed by free upgrade to Windows 10.
