A third-person horror adventure where you play as four characters, experiencing an intergenerational storyline tied to the haunting traditions of an ancient village in Sardinia, Italy, a region rich with unique folklore… 

 

The village itself is an elaborate maze with no two iterations being precisely the same—you will have to explore and solve the mysteries of the game largely unguided. 

 

Die, and watch the village reconfigure itself into a new form. Solve puzzles and open shortcuts to new areas with tools and items you find along the way, unlocking every piece of the story with different characters, each with its own power and suited for another aspect of exploration and investigation.

Fascinating mystery with diverse protags

So, I've "finished" recently Saturnalia. What a game, amazing experience by Santa Ragione. I like it so much that I bought it 3 times to gift it around. Some thoughts and praise about it: It is a 4 out of 5 game, because it is very indie, and has some rough edges, a control that needs a little more push, and it is quite exasperating sometimes. BUT The game is a mix of a detective game with survival horror, where each lives of the game is a full character. I really like that innovation. Even more, each protagonist is diverse: we have a 16-year-old punk girl, a guy with muslim ancestors, a gay guy, and the leader, a pregnant woman. And each one with their own muddy plot to untangle... It is a fascinating mystery with layers and layers and layers, I was finishing the game, when I discovered a new abandoned location and I was and thinking OMG, there are more secrets to uncover! In the end, I had to see the ending on YouTube because I was having trouble executing the proper order of actions intended by the designers to win it. I had all the clues, and I knew what must be done, but the game is quite nitpicky about it and lacks flexibility in that aspect, basically I rage-quitted at the end. But I fully recommend it. What a game!
