Satellite Reign

A moderately fun game, the gameplay is very difficult because the stealth is almost impossilbe to judge and as soon as the bullets start to fly, things get tricky! However, in multiplayer, when you can concentrate on one or two people, you can really get to enjoy the game. My massive gripe with this game is that it hides the save games in a weird hidden folder in your app-data folder somewhere. This is utterly absurd when you have a perfectly you 'My Games' folder in your user documents, made for save games. This means that my brothers and I have lost our saves in our computer migrations, windows crashes etc, unaware that the saves were there. I transfer all my documents to a separate drive as standard and it is really annoying that this game cannot keep with a normal method of save game storage. Tempted to give it no stars but it can be fun as a multiplayer.

Not a bad game but its chaotic

In a sprawling cyberpunk future city your band of heroes (well, agents) causes madness and mayhem in pursuit of the Greater Good, which is mostly you being in charge, but you get the idea. A spiritual and technical successor to Syndicate with more of an open world, side quest based play, this is a remarkable achievement that uses secure zones to contain the otherwise open world aspects of exploration (and to stop you accidentally starting a firefight with a literal army). Well executed and with lots of tactical options, this is well worth a play.

gameplay is frustrating + bugs & glitches = bad :-(

The game itself is good. Basically a re-imagination of good old Syndicate. Except for one little problem: crashes to desktop about once every hour (at least on my system). Now that would be "okay-ish" (other games tend to have crashes as well). Except: you can't save between missions and those missions tend to become longer later in the game. And every time the game crashes, you are back to square one, which with the more complex multi-part missions basically ends up being every two times out of three. Combine that with very long loading times and it stops being fun and ends up being annoying. The game unfortunately also becomes very repetitive after some time. In theory you got several specialists that could keep things interesting, if only the game would make better use of them. The assassin could remain unseen, circumvent obstacles and take out the target unnoticed. The hacker could take over your enemy and have them do his bidding like puppets, that do the job for him without risking anything. The support is meant to guide his troops and keep them alive using buffs, while the soldier is supposed to draw fire to himself and dish out damage. Good idea: there is a whole world of opportunities right there. Except for almost every mission I've seen so far, the best option is to NOT use any of this, seek strength in numbers instead and just rely on your firepower. Which is the only approach that at least sometimes works anyway, since all you "can" do is rush through the door guns blazing and hope to be able to finish the mission and save your progress, before the game crashes on you again and makes you start from scratch once more. I would rate higher if the crashes wouldn't be a constant nuisance.
