Satellite Reign

I love the Graphics, Gameplay, Stealth and Combat options of this game... and after over 83hrs of game play, I'm utterly peeved that on the final segment of the final mission which I spent several hours taking out Guards, subverting or destroying Defenses, overriding Mechs, setting up all the required relays, and killing 2 of the 3 Dengler Clones, and saving my progress via Auto-Saves and Manual Saves as I placed each of the Relays... I boot the game to continue, and all my saved progress is GONE! I was to hunt down the LAST Dengler Clone, but now have to begin the entire hours long mission over from the START! NOT HAPPY AT ALL!!! This game was worthy of 4/5 Stars prior to this fiasco. I used multiple save points including the Auto Save... all of them have me back at the very start of the second half of this mission! Not doing it again!

Told the guy to shoot the guy, he began shooting at him, being behind a wall. How hard can it be to implement a line of sight and ai that walks to one when ordered to shoot? Coll setting, not so cool game.

So, I liked the old syndicate figured I'd give this a try. Boy was I disappointed. The tutorial alone was not nearly intuitive enough, as I couldn't shoot who they wanted me to shoot based on what they said to do in it. What a crock! I had to look around online for the answer. The UI in general is attrocious, a different key for up to a couple dozen different things? The original syndicate wasn't anywhere near as cumbersome. The next problem was getting a multiplayer game going. There needs to be an option to search for a game to join, my friend tried to host and it was a sea of games. True we figured out directly connecting later but seriously? Overall it had potential, and I'll try to go through read through's online and see if that'll make it easier, try again, but there's no reason a game should have to be that clunky, especially when it's trying to be just like the original syndicate, why make it that much more clunky? Overall I'm disappointed. I'll try it again after a little reading and maybe upgrade my rating, but as it stands now the only reason I'm not requesting a refund is that I got Rebel Galaxy free with it and it was only on sale for 4 dollars.

On computer somewhat above minimal requirement, the game is choppy even in main menu and on low detail with low civilian density. It begins with long tutorial mission without possibility of saving during it. After I went through multiple areas and tasks which felt more like a chore than a game which took an hour and got a big mission that included going to a relatively distant police station and saving fourth character and doing some other stuff, I couldn't even save the game because for some reason it's impossible in tutorial, so I just gave up, especially with the choppy animations. Weapons do ridiculously low damage to unarmoured, unenhanced characters and you need, like 50 hits with SMG to kill a guard and vice-versa. Looks like the "series" is getting worse and worse in that aspect. Almost everything about the gameplay feels like a chore and is unappealing. I can't believe it was made by people who made Syndicate. Music is uninspired and boring, especially when compared to to Syndicate Wars or even Syndicate.

So this game has some kind of leak somewhere. It seems to be hardware-compatibility related (get you fingers crossed), so it might or might not happen on your machine. The fact is : I've got quite a decent hardware, and I get the worst performances I've seen in quite a while. Ridiculous framerate, general slowdown... You name it. The game is barely playable. Setting all graphical options on lowest and disabling everything you can won't solve this. I get the same result on windows and linux version. Point is : searching the web, one will learn this problem has been widely reported and discussed everywhere. For nearly two years, that is. Devs have brought no solution, if they even search for one. I can forgive a lot to a small indie dev team : but not a game breaking leak that has been multi-reported for two years. I will consider asking for a refund.
