When Game's Were FUN!!
Simply the most fun you can have in front of a computer with your pants still on! The franchise that gave us dildo bats returns for the finest installment of the lot. Third is the ultimate refinement (if you can use that word to describe a SR game) of all that made Saint's Row such fun to play. An absoute blast of a game from first to last. Including three full length DLC chapters for even more hours of mindbending frolicks, more customisation options than you could ever want, an obscene variety of weapons (and i do mean obscene) SR3 reminds us of a time when it was actually OK to have simple, stoopid, laugh out loud FUN playing video games. Irreverent, naughty, hilarious and actually damn fine gaming. Even the Soundtrack ranks amongst the fines ever in a game. Including every DLC this is an absolute STEAL if you've never played it, and absolutely worth having in any collection even if you've played it to death like me... Some of the most fun you'll ever have playing a video game.

Best game in the series, better than GTA
When someone's interested in the Saints Row series, I always recommend they start with the third game. It's where the series is both polished and still (mostly) grounded. I've played through the entire game several times since release and still love it. It does away with the seriousness and self-righteousness of GTA, and instead embraces the over-the-top silliness of the genre. This allows each of the characters to be likable and even sympathetic. My only problem with the game is that I don't like all the different kinds of mini-game challenges, so I've never quite 100% it. Fortunately these are all optional.

Finally a FUN open world game
To date this is the only open-world game of its type (like GTA, etc) that I have actually finished. It was fun from the first mission through to the end. I actually wanted to finish it, rather than feel like I should. Funny, silly, and not serious. Which is what I think we need more of in games. The second mission has you fighting people in a 2 minute long skydive. What's not to love? And do yourself a favor and pick Voice 3 for the male boss. You'll thank me later.

Nothing But Fun!
Saints Row always felt too much like a cheap rip off of Grand Theft Auto to enjoy, but Saints Row the Third is where the series begins to set itself apart from other franchises, through less serious, high action gameplay, and far more comedic themes, which in this games case, translates to pure Co-Op fun. Hopefully we'll be seeing Saints Row IV on GOG very soon
