Saints Row 2 brings true freedom to open-world gaming. Players can play as who they want, how they want, and with whomever they want in this sequel to the much acclaimed and tremendously successful Saints Row.
Set years after the original, the player finds himself in a Stilwater both familiar and strange and challenged with bringing the Saints back as the rightful kings of Stilwater and bringing vengeance to those who wronged him.
Limitless Customization - Play as fully customizable characters that are male, female or something in between. Vehicles can be visually customized as well as performance tuned. Cribs and even gangs all have an amazing degree of detailed customization options.
Multiplayer - Co-op full story campaign has seamless integration (for example one player drives while the other shoots). Competitive MP pushes the boundaries of immersion in a living Stillwater environment fully populated with police, innocent bystanders and rival gangs.
Killer Combat and Awesome Vehicles - Planes, helicopters, motorcycles, boats and cars can be piloted and used as weapons. On the ground new combat options include melee, fine aim, and human shield.
Freedom to Explore - More missions, activities, diversions, races, weapons, vehicles, cribs, city districts, and interiors than ever before. Over 40 story missions with additional bonus missions take place in a transformed Stilwater that is over 50% larger than before.

Why buy on GOG.COM?
DRM FREE. No activation or online connection required to play.
i dnt know if these issues are for everyone or just me,
1. the game crashes randomly and freezes
2. certain safehouses are bugged and the walls are transparent and cannot exit the building only way to do so is to do a cheat for a weapon like an RPG and blow yourself up
i gave it 3 stars cos even with these issues its a great game when it doesnt crash
I didn't expect too much and was overwhelmed. Not as much story like GTA, but more funny. I played through in a rush, very addictive game, and had no crashes with Win7 64bit.
Some problems have been fixed from the Steam release, but overall, it is still a significantly worse experience compared to the console versions. Disgraceful.
It is cheaper to get Xbox 360 and SR2 for it than trying to build a PC that can run this game. If you can get over 60 fps on high settings consistently then you are a god.
Seriously get the Xbox 360 version instead. Save yourself
Honestly the game is good but only on console
There is some misinformation that seems to be rampant particularly within the GOG circle that I'd like to call out:
1. No, the game is not fixed. It's playable, borderline, but performance is definitely not up to standard even compared to other games from that era. The GOG version is probably the most stable one and there is a mod for it called the Juiced Patch that will fix most performance issues and allow you to enjoy the game properly, however, that patch does not ship with the GOG version out of the box, is quite CPU heavy and does not fix everything, so claiming the game "works well" without mentioning that is misleading.
2. No, the DLC has not been ported to PC, the mission scripts are present in the game files and there is a mod that allows you to play them, but the actual content and assets that makes them unique is not available in the PC port in any shape or form.
3. A re-release is not in the works. There was a semi-official patch that was being worked on by a few Volition volunteers to fix the port properly and bring the DLC to PC, however, it's development has been such a monumental shit show that it's unlikely anybody feels motivated to work on it anymore. The lead developer on it died a while ago, the second-in-command managed to get himself cancelled by the community, the developer of the game was shuttered some time after, and the publisher is one foot in the grave as well. So needless to say everybody involved has bigger issues to worry about than fixing this game. Don't buy it expecting that to happen.
That said, game is a broken masterpiece. You're basically gambling on whether you'd be able to play it or not, but if you're willing to roll the dice this is hands down one of the best open world games ever made.
For those who don't know, it was CD Projekt who fumbled the PC port. If you decide to get it, kindly remind them of that every once in a while and maybe they'll decide to do something about it before the source code is lost again.
