Saints Row 2

Added Juiced Patch + GOTR mod and it's like the game was never one of the worst PC ports ever created. Truly incredible how far modding has come.

Here is my review regarding Saints Row. First, this is the order of best to wrost SR 1. SR2 > 2. SR1 > 3 .SR3 > 4. SR4 Saints row is a great game since you can basically do everything in coop as you can do in singleplayer. The bad thing is that the developers is going with the theme "Making it crazier/insane by sequel" So in other word, SR1 and 2 is the most normal. Volition Inc are (not sure if they did with SR4) using GameSpy as their online host which shutdown 2014. So you can't play online anymore without a VPN such as Hamachi for an example. And to add to that, there is many problems on even succeeding on find each other with a VPN. If you only want to play Singleplayer it's a pretty good game but very old and I'm pretty sure you wouldn't stumble into Saints row and start playing this shit without having nostalgia for it. GameSpy really messed up alot of games. And never trust people who says this same works etc, it crashes and multiplayer doesnt work. Back in the day you played multiplayer alot and didnt bother saving every 1min so when the game crashes without saving, rip life.

It ain't bad. For those who is having problems with performance, a simple fix is here http://www.gamefront.com/downloads/saints-row-2-patch Extract that and over-write the files and you will gain about 25fps with everything enable. As for the game is concern, it feels cheap and stiff and the animations are terrible. Driving is even worse. The story-line is blah, seems to be way more violence in this game than it is in 3 or 4. Customization is good though and it s a big city to explore. Game is only worth about 9.99 and that was at launch, good thing is free. Grab it while you can and make sure you go buy SR3 and SR4 the better ones of the series. On another note, where's SR1 Remastered for the PC?

Saints Row 2 is very enjoyable, arguably the best one in the series as it is funny and different enough to establish itself apart from Grand Theft Auto but was before they started going way to crazy with the superpowers and aliens. As with most games on GOG it is not the game itself that is the problem it is GOG itself. Game crashes at regular intervals even though you will hear claims of it being fixed. The crashes are especially common if you fail a side mission and click retry. This is nothing new as anything besides the oldest and most basic games (you know the ones that require nothing to port) typically have problems. It gets old really quick but it is the name of the game here along with questionable prices for games that are decades old and crash. Definitely purchase the game but be prepared to do the GOG field trip and immediatley start looking for mods and/or patches made by players that do GOG's job for them to make the game playable.
