Pretty good, worth the dollars and time
When I first bought Ruiner, I was expecting a re-hash of Hotline mixed with some cyberpunk - and I wasnt too far off Where I went wrong was - Ruiner added some really fun mechanics to the mix, skills, active dodge, and a decent amount of guns to keep each level and play through interesting. Seeing that each review seems to really have Pro / Con as a center, I'll do that I suppose. Pro: You know what you're going to get from the combat, throw in some fun little skills and ideas to really play a little more how you want to. (I.E. mostly guns or melee) Soundtrack keeps up with the action, but stays as a background instead of a forefront to enjoyment. Very little issues with bugs / crashing World feels fantastic, and you wish for more, which leads into... Cons: You wish for more out of the world, no real choices, story is short and to the point, people in the world are normally for one or two things and then never spoken to again. Desire for more between battle Arenas, after the 5th long hallway, you feel like its less about exploring and just start going into speedrun mode. More DLC / Story / Content would be loved by most people. Furi suffered from this as well. I'd give it 6/10 for the genre, Furi and Hotline Miami have more to offer, but if you don't like boss rush games, do this over Furi. I really enjoyed it, but it didnt do anything to push the limits. Just offered more of the same, but still done well. (5 being an average game, this isnt fucking IGN
