gog asked me to review this game I playd
[x] it's roller coaster tycoon....2 [ ] wheeeeere is my fast forward button ---- more rides, more locations, branding tie-ins where they got the Six Flags company to give them some maps based on their real-world parks, the only problem with the game is the same from RCT1 - coasting to your victory over a long time period (you otherwise got the objectives in year 2-3, why wait to the end of year 4?) and it's even less fun when there is no fast forward button - I went and prepared food at one point waiting for one of the most basic parks to finish, having achieved all the do-by-year-2 objectives at the end of year 1. Just like 1, the game is fun to watch all the little visitors run around, but not THAT fun. also this game takes several seconds to quit when that first game was INSTANT due to sawyer's skills with assembly

the sequel that actually made sense
this version of RCT absolutely blows the first one out of the water, adding an immense number of scenery and new roller coaster types, and the campaign in this game i feel is much more challenging. i wish i could shake chris sawyers hand !

Perfection
Rollercoaster tycoon 1 was what started my never ending need to build roller coasters, but when this game came out, i freaked. There are so many options to build the park of your dreams, including advanced scenery placement (Shift to raise pieces, Ctrl to place a piece at the height as one the mouse is over), roller coaster builder, and even a park designer. The third party development is amazing as well. You can go to so many different websites and download custom content. Google USES, or User Created Expansion Pack RCT2.

A less and more punishing RCT
So RCT2 is very like RCT1, the layout was improved to (for me) seem alot more logically made. the ride evaluation system were changed, making it alot harder to make cheap rides that earn massive amounts of money. But some of the more common mistakes were less punished in RCT2 than RCT1, and RCT3. The game also strikes alot harder down on bad map layout, because the guests started acting as if they didn't know the park in and out, as they did in RCT1. The difficulty were also lifted by forcing you into either using entrance fee, and free rides for the entire game, or to use free entrance, and ride cost. and thats probably the biggest differences i found in the games, as far as gameplay goes. Overall i consider it the perfected RCT asfar as gameplay goes, but all the RCt games are very unique and are all worth a play, but this is the best one (according to me).
