That's OK because no one's perfect, and you don't have to be to win this game. But you do have to be pretty darn good because this game is HARD. Fortunately, every time you die, all of the gold you've collected can be used to upgrade your manor, giving your next child a step up in life and another chance at vanquishing evil.

  • A genealogical roguelite where every death results in stronger children and a fresh new look at tackling the castle minions.
  • More than 30 unique traits affect gameplay in unique ways, such as Colorblindness, Gigantism, and Irritable Bowel Syndrome.
  • Procedurally generated castles that extend replay value by making every attempt a unique experience.

Don't

It looks good and fresh at first but it's really annoying. There are much better metroidvania out there, like A Robot Named Fight, or just try Aria of Sorrow and Symphony of the Night which are prolly the best of the genre.

Fun!

Great gameplay, fun exploration, and a great balance of persistent progression and roguelike cruelty. Be warned, it's very hard to break out of its "oh just one more try" cycle.

One of the best games I played in years

Seriously. Adictive, fun to play, a lot of content, real difficulty, lots of jokes and a lot of character progresion makes this game one of the best games this year. Sure there will be people saying names like last of us, bioshock and such, but this one is awesome, fantastic and an example for indie developers on how to do a fun game.

To young developers

When you make a game in which about everything feels clunky, unbalanced, laughably unfair and rough around the edges you still have a solution : Put "Rogue" in the title. It excuses everything. Broken hitboxes => rogue ! Infamous manoeuvrability => rogue ! Absurd difficulty with 100% hit chance situations => rogue ! ... No. =>Bad game design. Ps : And if people still don't agree you can tell them it is a tribute to 90s platformers. :) See ? You're INVINCIBLE !

High Requirements for Retro Platformer

Surprisingly, this game actually requires a relatively robust graphics card to run at a decent clip, but based on what I could play in slow-motion, it's fantastic! It may actually be the bump I need to finally upgrade my graphics card.
