Risk of Rain is an action platformer with roguelike elements. With permanent death as a primary feature, players will have to play their best to get as far as possible. Fight on a mysterious planet with randomly spawning enemies and bosses, either alone or with 3 friends in online co-op. With over 100 items at your disposal, you will find the tools you need to find the teleporter back home. Discover a myriad of randomly chosen stages, from the desolate forest to the frozen tundra.
Risk of Rain is a randomly generated roguelike game that keeps replayability high and fresh.
Time = difficulty. The higher the in-game time gets, the harder the difficulty gets. Keeping a sense of urgency keeps the game exciting!
No more fussing with complex and non-intuitive gameplay patterns. You can fully enjoy the game whether you win or lose.

Why buy on GOG.COM?
DRM FREE. No activation or online connection required to play.
I have bought Risk of Rain on Steam, on PlayStation, and on the Switch, and I will probably buy it here on GoG in the future just because it's that good.
I fully recommend playing with friends.
Also Acrid is the best, do not @ me.
This game allows you to collect powerups for however long you like, which is good if you absolutely love that feeling of clawing your way up the food chain. You can become unstoppable, with some luck in the start. And there are options which make late game even more interesting like the artifacts and new character unlocks. There is a lack of variety in levels though. All levels have a randomized element and they change up a little bit each time you play but it still has the same layout, and there are around 10 themes. However I still managed to get over 40 hours out of this game thusfar so this issue exceeds irrelevancy as far as it's price goes. It is a great game with great multiplayer and even local multiplayer if you can figure that out
Great fun once I got over the initial hurdle. The only thing I don't like is games with unlockables - once I complete a game I uninstall it, so all that is gone and I have to start again next time I play it, maybe a year or two later. I'd much rather have an option to be able to unlock everything, so I could try out new characters I've not seen and so on. Also I totally missed the fact that after a few levels the teleporter offers a new destination - I pressed the same button on reflex, not seeing the small text change, and couldn't understand why I never got to the end of the game! Still, lovely game, but don't play it for too long without a break or your eyes will go funny.
An innovative and enjoyable game that rewards patience and persistence. However, online multiplayer (with all of the new dynamics it brings to the table) has been broken for a couple of years with no fix.
Sooo fun, and the music is so catchy and well made too.
I love how you are always challenged to try harder as time goes on, combined with semi random environments and items, makes this game so addictive and fun to pick up and play.
The presentation of this game is really cool also.
