Risen 3: Titan Lords

It is what Risen 2 should have been, especially about combats! + Cool factions with cool stuff, I was so happy with all new spells learnt from Daemons Hunters trainers! + temples, caves and other environment have a "presence" like Risen 1and Gothic 3 + full of great animations, finish moves or choregraphic punchy spells. It reminds me impressive fire spells from Gothic 3 + good lifetime + good graphic + dense maps, great map design + dodging works! - toooooo many stories and characters written about alcohol - very poor writing about women : in Risen 3 they are just greedy, dumb or sexy. C'mon you can do better Piranha Bytes... - some bugs remaining - I had to edit a file to massively improve performance - I miss smithing like Risen 1 => Risen 3 is good, I can't wait to play a new game with a mage this time!

Risen 3 is an okay RPG, but not as good as Gothic 1&2. The side quests are lame and remind me of an MMORPG and the difficulty is too low, especially at the end. I beat the final boss without healing myself a single time. Still better than Risen 1 and 2.

Despite reading a few bad reviews I'm a huge Gothic fan and tried this. And I was pleasantly surprised and found myself enjoying exploring dungeons and jungles etc upgrading my character. BUT.......... It has a GAME BREAKING BUG WHICH IS UNSOLVABLE and believe me I have tried. I have been playing pc games since the 90's and am pretty good at unscrambling program messes by the developers.. After you defeat captain Morgan in the hand to hand fight on his ship the game leaves you standing in mid air. The cut scene won't load...try skipping the cut scene, yes tried that 100 times doesn't work...reload from a previous save a long time ago...doesn't work. Reinstall tried that, fiddle with this fiddle with that, change this run this all failed to cope with developer incompetance. Most reviews are written long before they get to this point a long way into the story so haven't encountered it. But if you want to complete the game you can't. Some people appear to be lucky, don't know why my system won't cope, it has 500 working games on steam, 150 on GOG and numerous others on Uplay, Origin etc so I don't buy that either. My question is why would GOG sell this game? It's a con, simply doesnt work past this point. Fix it or stop stealing customers money. Well what else is it?

The previous game I had to lower ingame resolution from 4k to 1440p because otherwise the game chopped off text. Now on this one I have to lower the resolution for the entire system from windows settings, because the stupid game is alergic to scaling and hides UI elements! Incredible how it gets worse... Apart from that, they dumped the previous games' main character and voice actor and replaced them with much worse and they made the character progression system worse

Sorry to say this: but this is the most boring RPG I've ever played. The story is poor, boring, un-motivational, trivial. To be honest - after 3 hours of gameplay I completely forgot about the fact, that Risen 3 is 'story-driven'. Well all the 'Piranha bytes' titles where a little bit 'stretchy', long-winded in the first couple of houres of gameplay. And because of this I thought that I should give the game a little bit more time to develop to get interesting. But in Risen 3 there is nothing that will keep you on your toes. The real bad thing about Risen 3 is the so-called combat system. It is nothing but annoying. Combat ends up to be a endless mouse click session. No - it isn't hard to master. In fact it is quite easy when you get the hang of it. Unfortunatelly combat is what you do in Risen 3. You won't walk for more than 10 seconds unless you run into an NPC that will attack you. Annoyingly most of the NPCs are tenacious like they are made of stone and steel... It simply eats up your time. Apparently for no better reason than giving you experience points. The story is completely burried under this hack-and-slash attitude. This is so enormously boring... After 8 houres of struggling with this game and it's overwhelmig boredom I finally gave up.
