Resident Evil

The price is ridiculous for what you are getting. You can buy these cheaper on the ps3 playstation online store (still) in 2025....let that sink in. Now the only reason to buy these is the mods. So do the mods work? Yes. But you basically have to go to page 2 or 3 of the forums and find the compilation post and....the post is a hot mess, but the information you need is more of less there(?). That said it took like 2 hours to get all this setup and working....bugs and crashes and all this hot mess. Each game had its own mod setup (the setup is not consistent like u'd assume). And GOG Galaxy being a ridiculously idiotic in the way thing...it keeps loading itself up and then crashing even though I specifically downloaded the drm free versions...it's so ridiculous looking. Don't download Galaxy (if it even lets u!) They could do some kind of mod management here at least....pin the thread? Clean THE THREAD UP? Post the data in the description of the main page???? I mean cmon GOG I don't feel any love here whatsoever. This is a really expensive treat even on sale with 20% off the bundle price I am still paying 10$ a game with all the taxes. It would be worth it if they all came loaded with all the HD mods out of the box...but they don't, the games would normally be in bargain bins for 2$ in a sane world. How are the games? First timer here: Worth playing with the mods working. RE1 I had some visual bugs here and there but nothing game breaking short of...I don't understand how newgame+ works, its not explained anywhere and its confusing. For Jill it made her start using inkCartridges, gave me infininte smg, but didn't give me a warbdrobe key like I got for Chris.....I didn't see any changes on Chris's newgame+ other than the warbdrobe key...I can't find anything on google. I guess the game is done. I couldnt use the combination door even after I got the code from Barry...bug? Again, I have no idea, I can't find info. GOG isn't doing enuf for the price. Step it up guys

I'm glad I have a way to play the original PC versions without modding and isn't abandonware. It is good stuff. Mods should work better for it (like the upscaled FMVs) so it's worth buying in that regard. It is a bit of a wonder text wasn't redone just to have a higher resolution (you just use the same font, no AI needed). I'm not sure if BGs could be done without AI or completely redoing them entirely but having come from the stone age of gaming I don't really need fancy graphics etc but it would be nice to match some of the work done on the 3D models for resolution's sake. But I'm happy with it apart from those nitpicks. NOW... how about Code Veronica?? (OG or X idc)

This is pretty much the original PC port, with new DX rendering, a few video options (use the external dxcfg.exe) and redefinable keys, and I honestly don't mind. I've long waited to replay the original games on PC, and this release offers the same awesome experience as back in the day. Oh, and here's a lockpick. It might be handy if you, the master of unlocking, take it with you.

It's one of those rare old PC ports that is superior or at least on par with the console version, and at last, GOG brought it back.
