This game is so peak Jill makes me nut everytime 10/10 game (i needed min. 30 characters)

This is the original PC version of the game. Another version was later released with resolution settings which is not what we got here. Although this is unfortunate, the game runs great and does have some setting option although very limited. Both my switch and ps5 controller worked without issue and you are able to rebind to a degree in-game (game settings are in a launcher separate of the game). I was able to alt-tab without any issue also which is always very welcoming imo. All in all, you can still play the rebirth version, but im happy that I can now own a legit copy of the game. It also gave an excuse to play again hehe :)

I had just watched a bunch of videos related to Resident Evil last week... I didn't expect this re-release. Immediately bought it, launched it and didn't stop playing until I cleared it with Jill. I didn't encounter any issues, no crashes or bugs whatsoever; the keyboard control scheme worked nicely. 10/10, can't wait for RE2/RE3

I'm so glad to have this game again, as it was the first time I played it. Great work and can't wait to play RE2 and RE3 again. This brought back so many old memories.

I've never bought a game on GOG before but when I saw this I just had to buy it. This is the bare-bones, old school Resident Evil experience, and I love it. I don't think I need to get into how great this game is, so I will mention a couple things that this version lacks that would have made the experience even better: • Achievements. Many gamers have already played through this game a whole bunch of times since the original release in 1996 (if I remember correctly). Achievements would have made it even more worthwile for some of us. • I need to turn on my Xbox Series controller before launching the game for it to work, and if I pause the game and the controller turns itself off after a few minutes of inactivity, I can't get it to work again. This can mean that you need to waste an ink ribbon, close the app and load your save, since some stuff won't work anymore. Like running, for example. • This didn't matter back in the day when TV sets were really low-res, but playing on a high resolution monitor when the static background images/environments are so low res makes it too obvious which objects you can interact with, because polygon objects look way sharper and stand out from the static backgrounds. This is not a major deal but don't they have the background images with higher resolution saved somewhere? And if not, couldn't they have used AI upscaling or something? But these flaws aside, this is a fantastic experience and a piece of video game history. If you haven't played the original trilogy, just go ahead and buy this! I hope they will release Code Veronica next.
