Rebel Galaxy

Normally i would not buy a game of this type (i get it for free). After around 30+h playing this title i must say - good game, maybe i'll back to it or search for another of this kind. I catch no bugs, only little problem leaving a station (got myself re-enter few times automaticaly, do not ram stations!).

Fast paced like Freelancer of old so more of a arcade shooter than a space sim. Traveling on a 2D plane in 3D space is kind of immerison breaking, but broad siding space craft like sea ships of olden times is loads of fun. The copy/paste mission selection gets a bit old. So I find this best played in short bursts. Some really nice ship models and a beautiful and colorful universe with multiple systems to see and explore. Personal custom sound tracks can be added to this game. However I really like the vanilla soundtrack, because it gives off a Firefly/Borderlands feel. Trader, mercanary, pirate, bounty hunter, miner choose to be one or choose to be all of them at any one time.

ok game. a bit redundant, but the story is nice to play through.

I have about 20 hours in it now, I'm having a blast with it, and I've barely scratched the surface of it. If you like your games nostalgic, your wings commanded and your scifi shiny, this will be a great one for you. 4/5 because lack of some simple ledger tools for people who want to RP the everyday trader is a notable miss and I feel like interstellar societiy could figure out comm bouys and keep market information up to date without a random encouter. These are very minor inconveniences, but do more to hurt immersion than to help it. Nonetheless, incredibly fun game that i've poured every free minute into since I picked it up and see no signs of slowing down. Ticks a lot of boxes, scratches a some nostalgic itches. Doesn't tryhard because it doesn't need to. Just a really good game. Hats off to the devs.

The game is good in it's simplicity so I rate it highly. I think it has well balanced progression and an uncomplicated trading functionality. Having said that, the simplicity could also be part of its faults as some simple functions such as displaying the speed or locking onto things that aren't on the same plane as your ship could be points of improvement.
