Rayman Origins

Amazing game! I can certainly recommend this game to check it out. It was one of the best local co-op games what I have played.

I highly recommend this for anyone that loves sidescrollers, as this is the perfect evolution from old to new. Origins goes back to Rayman's 2D roots, focusing on excellent platforming and the quirky charm that made Rayman so popular in the first place. The levels are designed excellently, with speed running in mind, meaning that they flow well from start to finish. While there are some punishingly difficult levels, they have save points along the way that make the grind feel less tedious. For those who want a truly difficult experience, collect all 10 Tricky Treasures which allows you to unlock "Land of the Livid Dead." This level is super hard, but also a lot of fun and encourages you to keep going with save points along the way. If you beat that extra level, you get to watch the credits again, but this time you get to demolish them as a character walking along the words in the credits.

This game is one of the best platformers I've ever played (incl. old consoles' games), 5/5 for me. If you love 2D platformers generally, it's a must-play. First of all it's just beautiful - visuals, music etc. everything about it. Controls are easy, you run with Shrift, Space - Jump, S - Attack, if you keep pushing Space in the air Rayman uses his ears like a propeller (some abilities aren't available from the start, you unlock them as you progress). It's perfectly fine to play this game with keyboard, you won't need a controller. The difficulty is well-balanced, it is difficult (especially if you want all the achievements) but not absurdly difficult, like some older 2D platformers I've encountered before.

I'm not really having fun with it, the art and sound is good, level design is fine, but the controls are all over the place, it feels like if it had input lag and floaty at the same time, I feel I'm fighting the controls more often than the game, and I have beaten the path of pain in Hollow Knight.

Fun, colorful and diverse levels. You can play in cooperation with family/friends.
