Rayman 2: The Great Escape

Out of all the Rayman games in the series, I'd say this one has to be the best. The first and third are pretty good (third has quite a few unwanted changes, though), but this one easily tops them both. I've played the game on PS1, N64, PC, and 3DS, and aside from the PS1's lower graphics, they're all basically the same. It's an amazing game no matter which game you play it on, but I'd highly recommend buying it on the PC so that you can play it without much hassle, and it's pretty cheap, too. $6 for this game is definitely worth it, the environment is amazing, and the graphics have certainly withstood the test of time. Buy it!

I owned this game on the first Playstation and I absolutely loved it, unfortunately when I try to play this game on Windows 7 64 bit it crashes during loading the section after the introduction in the pirate ship, reinstalling did not fix this issue.

The game's pretty good but some parts are literally unplayable.

Rayman has always been one of the best and smoothest platformers around. When it went into 3D I though that it might be ruined during the whole 3D craze era, but it was not unlike few other franchises. It's still strong even even today. It's worth a buy and hey... It's Rayman. That's a brand of its own.

I hereby publicly declare my love for this game. My judgement might be impaired by nostalgia - nevertheless I would recommend this game to anyone who: - prefers gameplay over graphics - it is just so playful! You get so many colorful challenges - various enemies, sometimes easy, sometimes difficult, and even undefeatable ones you have to run away from (scary!). You get lots of running, swimming, sliding, falling and flying. You get to pilot various form of transport: running and flying rockets, plums, flaming barrels of gunpowder, a whole pirate ship, you waterski behind a swampsnake, you drive a laserbeam chair. Most of the time the challenges are colorful and just lovely, although sometimes it can be frustrating too. Forget about collecting the lums and you make your life easier if you want. - likes music - the soundtrack of this game is a masterpiece. It blends so perfectly with the gameplay, story and emotions. It is entertaining on its own - the whole OST in on youtube. - has imagination - the world in this game is crazy and weird, but if you can get over that, you find an actual story with characters deeper than it may seem
