Randal's Monday

Now that I've played half of the game, I would now like to also give my opinion on it. The characters of the game are all quite unique. Randal is very unappealing, but this makes this character out. I like him. The remaining characters are all allusions to Old series, movies or games. Some are very successful, others less so. The puzzles are sometimes illogical. Sometimes too easy. This is like the charm of old Adventures like Monkey Island did sometimes. (where you need 3 times say "but I want") Unfortunately, the developers could not implement this so well. The story of the game is very similar to the 80s and 90s. Where the original was clearly the movie Groundhog Day. It is solid and very fancy, but nothing new. The graphics convinced with the attention to detail and all the allusions to movies and games (and a lot of it), very well-drawn backgrounds and characters. TOP. The music is mainly suitable for the game, even if it is sometimes very melancholic. All in all, this game deserves 4 stars. Due to the puzzle there is a star less. Still recommended for adventure fans.

I love black humor, irony and any other clever way to make me laught. But this game is not clever, it is just a boring story with a real disgusting main character doing jokes that some teenagers would consider immature. The mechanics are the classic point-and-click. Perhaps it would be great if the story was good or the characters memorable, but it is not the case. It feels old and dated in a bad way. In conclussion, if you want to play a intelligent and funny graphic adventure, don't play this game. Many better games are waiting you out there.

The good: Graphics are great. Inventory system works. Voice acting is above average. Some geek culture references. Point 'n Click adventures are awesome. The bad: The main character is an unlikable idiot. I totally hate the sosiopath who pawns his best friend's wedding ring and generally treats other people badly. Some problems require creative thinking (trying everything) Geek culture references are not always subtle and fit the story. Listening to a hot dog vendor talk about giant marshmallow man he saw last week seemed kinda fake and lame.

I really enjoyed this game. It's fun, fairly logical (whilst still challenging at times) in its puzzles, and longer than I'd anticipated it to be.

The main character might be stupid and unpleasant, but he's fun in a his way. The game has lots of nasty jokes and unexpected puzzles. There might be too much backtracking and and a few illogical puzzles, but alltogether I had a good time playing the game.
