Rain World

Simply a game that makes me feel what no other game has, to be part of a living and breathing world. On the surface, this is a classic "no hand holding" action platforming game about navigating a hostile world as a small creature. I would not have minded some options for a bit more guidance, but I understand the vision. The special part is that almost nothing is scripted and almost everything happens by creatures around you interacting. Lizards not only hunt you, but also other prey. Some creatures hunt the lizards. There is always something going on and you can never be sure that a path is clear, but that is the magic. You simply have to survive another day, find something else to do, and try again the next day. Somehow this is very relaxing, and I just love to be a part of this world.

Replayability ad infinitum, and plenty of stuff to do. It can be frustrating but really provides a lot of fun after getting used to the way the Slugcat handles and overcoming the frustration of dying again and again. For me, this game is an Instant Classic.

I really enjoy this game, and the art is amazing. But i find myself ragequitting because its so difficult.

played this back in 2018. blew my mind back then and still does. still fire it up from time to time just to move through the beautiful Rain World

I recently picked it back up and I got completely lost in the ecosystem, immersive world and the beautiful ambience and soundtrack. I found myself playing the game for a long time having lots of fun. Also... Slugcat slugcat slugcat :D
