lacking substance
tldr: I refunded while in beta, game is good, but lacks content for the price. I'm afraid DLC spam to come. The game is gorgeous, sound is great, laying tracks is the best experience of all railroad sims so far, but: - maps are very limited (US only) - in comparison the old RRT serie has almost all world covered; - AI competition or even a set of scripts for it is nearely non-existent, it simply cheats in all aspects and plays by different rules; - limited signals and train AI ... oh wait, there's none, trains always go the shortest route to the same platform, no matter what, no matter the alternatives. It kind of works... well, also kind of infuriates at times, because you cannot set the route to bypass the city if the line is even slightly longer than the one passing through, which leads to congestion and... - ... you have to get the shipment right to the destination, no leaving cars for pick-up by other trains, considering the point above it's becoming tedious... warehouse kind of solves the issue somewhat; - game ends about 1920s (I may be wrong here), and locomotives are limited, also about a third of them isn't even useful. Overall I enjoyed it a bit despite all flaws, but still looking for modern RRT game (remake of old one?).
