Railroad Tycoon 3

Thre mouse controls are rediculous. The tutorial is not much help. Overall I am quite dissappointed with the playability.

How did they take Railroad Tycoon II and make a squeal that is a downgrade? -Clunky controls compared to 2 -Fewer scenarios than 2 -Bad in-game camera compared to 2 -Messy UI compared to 2 -Fewer things to build in sandbox mode compared to 2 -Be careful with the graphics settings as they will crash, unlike 2 My advice is to play Railroad Tycoon 2 Platinum.

Its been a favorite of mine since ages and i would really like to love it but and thats a big but if it weren´t so horrible to make it run . Right now i´m fighting with the draw distance because the game freaks out when a bit of things are happeining on sceen .

I do not think they rewrote completely from scratch the network layer. Actually, I am quite sure they did not since it is mentioned LAN only. Let me tell you than the network layer is completely broken: it is not that it disconnects you readily and often. It lets you play for a while... with two maps changing differently on each client. You'll see lines of other players unfinished and wonder why they are not tended too, you'll be happy with your own lines that actually will looks unfinished to others players. Finally, you'll get a crash when it wont be possible to make sense of all the differences among clients. You'll load a savegame and... it will be utter trash except for the client that did the said savegame. It is not really LAN play but LAN garbage. Bugs were noticed when the game went out but they soon stopped providing fixes and patches.

This game is supposed to be an improvment? I actually have a harder time to find the menus!. The UI is an improvment in my eyes, but only in concept, the execution is rather bad. The graphics are really dull! Like seriously, yeah cool 3D Grafics but it looks so dull and the models do not age well at all. Laying tracks is kinda bad, but when the game restricts you that the tracks need to be connected to your old ones it really gets messy. I had no clue what I was supposed to do, I only wanted to lay it over the river via a bridge, but nope super werird and clunky. The whole curve prediction is jusyt terrible. The vanilla scenario cards are also terrible, all are in a specific time period that makes it really hard to play if you want to play in another, you cannot set your opponents as you want and even if those two are okay with you than you cannot built where you want on the map. Like yeah in the precessor it was the same but there where at least plenty. Also the dificulty, like in the second game in this series I could easily make money even on harder dificulties. When I connected two major cities I had at least half a train full, but now we only have like 1 passanger car!. Like wut? How am I supposed to make progress. I tried to make a little farm line on the side but it didn't even picked up anything, it just stand there! Empty! for over a year! next to the farm!. This game is mostly terrible but with good ideas. I rather play the 2.
