An Absolute Classic - and GOG version works out-of-the-box! Just don't get scared about screen going wild after every video and scene change. That's just how you know it's working! On more serious note, it's just the duct-tape that holds the game together on modern devices showing up. Pretty sure the devs weren't betting on game being played so far into future and decided that "it works now and that's all that matters." ...in 2003. /shrugs Whether or not this is "an improvement" or "downgrade" over previous title(s) in the series can be argued till eternity BUT! One thing is sure: you will get hooked to the sweet sounds of the Locomotives and those sweet coin sounds every time you deliver something to somewhere. Master the magic behind cargo, trade and logistics. Build your Industrial Empire. Become the Stock Wizard of your time. Claim and conquer the lands before you and most of all: Rule the World with your trains!

Definatly not as good as Sid Meiers Railroads. Graphics are poor to say the least.

It can eat your days, weaks and even months without you even noticed they passed. Only thing i wihs is a modern day version of this, and please if someone try to do this dond change anything from this!!! Nothing even comes close to this game in its category.

I mean for the few bucks they are selling it for it's totally worth it just to buy so you can watch the intro to the game. Almost brought a tear to my eye, made me feel 10 years old again, I never played this before. In the very first moments I got very strong feelings that a lot of love went into this game. It's a beuty and I rarely see games made like this anymore. Full of goddamn whimsy and fun too. The way games should be.

Takes a LOT of work to get it running on modern computers. Just from the sheer amount of stuff you have to google and fixes you have to download, it's almost not worth it to buy this official version rather than simply downloading a pirated copy that has all the fixes and works out of the box. Railroad Tycoon II, however, works just fine on new computers, so I would recommend buying that game instead.
