Quake 4

The story was alright, but I feel it was hampered by too many characters and none of them being memorable. The story was too similar to Quake 2. Most of the weapons were underpowered or delayed. The game was designed to be very dark, which forced the use of the machine gun for most of the game as it was the only useful weapon with a flashlight. I played the game on General difficulty and damn was that hard. I died a lot, and it took me about 19 hours to complete. You die so fast.

I don't know what these other reviewers are talking about. I played this when it came out. I don't want to exaggerate, so I'll just say that it was, in a word, mediocre. Painfully so. I loved Quake 2 and was utterly disappointed by this. The campaign was over so quickly that it felt like a demo. The gameplay has nothing interesting. The graphics are not as good as Doom 3 (I think it uses the same engine, can't be arsed to look it up).

really expected more from this game. i really liked doom and quake champions so I gave this one a shot. this game just doesn't feel the same. the multiplayer however does feel like quake champions and doom. had a bast just running around the map by myself doing rocket jumps and stuff

It's a very boring corridor shooter. The vehicle segments suck. Most areas are just long hallways and there are way too many elevators. Weapons are not very interesting and lack punch. It's from that time period of slow, brown and bloom shooters, that all had generic and predictable plots about muh mehreens, so that's exactly what you get. Just a very uninspired FPS game.

Quake is one of my favorite shooter series, and this... this is just not it. Slow, too scripted and boring.
