Psychonauts

Psychonauts is still what I consider my favorite game of all time. It isn't a "perfect game" by any stretch of the imagination but it is my favorite. The platforming can be clunky, even using a controller (how I played) and the collectables serve little to no real purpose other than mindless completionism but the characters and settings in this game REALLY shine. I guess that's kind of redundant seeing as the characters ARE the settings. The main conceit of the game is jumping into characters minds and helping them work through their personal issues. I don't think I've ever played a game that I found as generally funny and charming as I found Psychonauts and I'm glad to have played it.

This game is one of the best 3D platformers I played in my life. I say is "almost a masterpiece" because one of the last levels (the meat circus) is really frustrating. Until that point, the game is very straightforward, but then it gets really annoying. Also, is the kind of game that has a "point of no return", so you need to make sure to have all the collectibles before that point, or you'll never get them. Besides that, the game design, the characters, the powers, the puzzles, the deep messages about the human psyche, is all great!

Never played it before. First impression is : "WOW" I love this game, style and music, a little annoying dialogues system, but the are fun to read. I can recommend it to those who never tried it. Hope you will like it as much, as I do.

Very original and fun game. Amazing game with hilarious storyline and slapstick comedy.

I was impressed by the huge world of Pyschonauts; levels are varied yet consistent with the story. I was glad to be able to play on Linux (Ubuntu 18.04). Should have bought a controller but I was too involved in the game to wait for it.
