Description
Delve into people's minds as Raz, a powerful young cadet at a psychic summer camp. While working on his merit badge in levitation, Raz discovers that someone is kidnapping psychic children and stealing their brains. To foil this evil plot and earn the title of Psychonaut, Raz must project himself into the mind of one bizarre character after another to battle their nightmares and inner demons. He does all this while continuing to earn psychic merit badges in subjects such as telekinesis, clairvoyance and fire-starting.

This amazing 3D platformer adventure, full of brilliant humor, trippy setting, and surreal action, became famous for its originality and excellence of design. If you're looking for a unique gaming experience, this is a fine pick. More than just fine, as a matter of fact--double fine!
  • A brilliant story that will not let go of you until you finish the game
  • An absolutely unique atmosphere with a psychedelical level design by Tim Schafer's famous Double Fine team
  • One of the greatest titles of the platformer genre

This is Gaming as it should be

Substantial, balanced, hilarious, FUN... And unappreciated by the masses, which probably includes you. Come on, you'll love it!

This game is way to good to be left in the darkness of the game charts! You need to play this game and enjoy great storytelling

The most fun I had playing since ...

... actually I can't remember if I ever had this much fun playing a computer game. I'm rather new to gog.com and was mostly playing the newest games and not really looking at anything older. Man, I'm glad that changed. Psychonauts was the first game I picked up on this site and well, what can I say? The story is intelligent, the charakters are very interesting, there is a ton of good laughs and also (which surprised me) quite a bit of dark and mature themes. I definitely enjoyed the art style too, though I know a friend of mine can't stand it, so I guess that might be the only thing someone might now like about it. The best thing about the game though is probably it's creativity. Every mind you enter is a completely new world and it is simply impossible to get bored. So look at the screenshots here on gog and if you don't completely dislike the art style, get this game! It rocks! Definitely one of my favourite games of all time!

The funniest game I've ever played!

Psychonauts is a brilliant game! There are so many things I love about this game I don't know where to begin! Okay let's start with the humor. The humor is great! It's everywhere! The characters look funny, the dialoge is hilarious, the cutscenes are goofy, and the game is hysterical! You can punch and even use your powers on someone and they always have something funny to say, especially Ford Cruller. Talking to characters is fun too. One of my favorite parts of the game is exploring the campgrounds. It's huge! The levels are fun but can be frustrating at times. Buy it!

A game for most ages.

For it's genre, this game is great. Imaginative, funny, well written and varied. The art style is up to the viewer, but I think it suited the game. This is one of those games that crosses age boundaries. Because this games doesn't rely upon explosions or killing people, it's fun. Younger players can enjoy the graphics and gameplay, older players can enjoy the dialogue and settings. Some of the controls might have been a bit fiddly, but with some exploration and trial and error it can be rewarding. Who wants a game where everything is handed to you and your are told what to do and when to do it - those games are for automatons. So if you don't like platformers, or being told what you need to do next and have a big arrow bouncing up and down to tell you where to go next or who to talk to - please don't buy this game and review it!
